Not sure what to think about him. To me it seems like he backs off a little then it seems like he goes back after it..Not sure, what are ya'lls opinon?

I don't see where he backed off. Obvious to me that he does not believe MT story. He goes so far to call the perp his friend and to question those around him.
Look... the whole thing seems fishy. I've seen Catfish on MTV and those people that get into these online relationships without ever talking or seeing the person aren't the brightest... maybe I shouldn't say that... but they want what they have to be so real but it's fantasy. I don't know what to think... He could have been embarrassed when he found out it was a hoax or it was all a play to get more pub.
I definitely think this whole thing is an indictment of the media to the fact that they do not vet anything anymore because they know the masses will just gobble it up. Good job, Deadspin.
If you're familiar with Deadspin, these guys break a lot of stories. They broke the Favre/Sterger deal, and they're always nailing hacks like Rick Reilly, Woody Paige, and Skip Bayless everytime they plagarize somebody else's work. They're not bound to protect a brand like ESPN writers, so they are relentless about exposing stuff like this. Plus, it's a pretty funny site.
Someone answer a question for me. If one were flying to Hawaii from Indiana, wouldn't that flight connect through Los Angeles? As many times as he must have made that flight, don't you think at some point, over three years or whatever, he would have taken a day, or an afternoon at least, to actually go meet his girlfriend in person? Especially if she was that sick.
The one angle I haven't seen explored is this, was MT so desperate for a girlfriend that he had to choose an online relationship. Seems to me the star of the ND football team would have his pick. Either this guy was in on the hoax or he is the dumbest tool in the shed.
Well maybe not really backed off, but he just didnt seem like he was real confident when the interveiw started..I don't know really just seemed a little strange at first to me
This whole thing is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen.
Not only that - how long would it take you....or anyone, to start asking questions themselves when you have this person you talk with online and on the phone....you have been sent pic's....but she doesn't want to meet in person for whatever reasons. How long before you start saying OK, so who are you really?
NOTHING about this makes sense. Nothing. IF some of what he and ND are saying are true...there obviously as everyone knows is something missing. Bigtime. 3 Years. And nothing in person? LOL yeah ok. I'm really wondering if this is the cover up for his true sexuality? I know, a reach but others are suggesting this as well. You are him at ND, how many girls would drop in a moment for you - yet you never, as far as we know...take even one up on anything and the cover is you have a girlfriend 2000 or whatever miles away? That seems like a cover if I ever heard one. He may have been talking to someone, and it may have been someone names Lennay - or maybe just Lenny (g) ???
I did not read any backing off from him at all
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
Or, if it were you, wouldn't you reach out to the girl's family after her death to express your sympathy? Wouldn't you visit her grave? Surely he was approached by well-meaning people at Notre Dame wanting to send flowers, gifts, etc. What address did he provide to them? Another question...how did Teo's brother find out she was dead? Who told him?
There are way more questions than answers Fez. Crazy story.

What people are forgetting is that he claims they have met in person. His dad claims they met several times in Hawaii.
A number of Notre Dame players have told the media, since this broke, that they never believed the girlfriend story. They also said he was a good actor and loved getting attention. Anyway, I heard this on the radio tonight.
He at first said he met the girl then his dad says she came to see him different times at home. I believe he just started the lie and everyone just helped him lie for some reason.
