Not me...streaks like that create bad omens. I can hear Vern saying "Coming in, Alabama hadn't given up a point in XXXX quarters, and now they find themselves down by xxxx halfway through the first here in Baton Rouge (or wherever)....
No, not really. I do find myself getting mad when we give up a first down tho, lol.
The last few years have spoiled me, lol.
Wasn't pissed about the streak as much as the coverage on the TD and the tackling during the drive. It gave the guys good experience though and some of these players who thought they were ready for the "spotlight" had an eye opener. Always good to have a reality check.
I told myself coming into this season that I was not gonna sweat defensive stats, but we have just played so well so far that I can't help it.
I'm a stat guy, what can I say.
And yes I am very aware it is important to get the 2/3s in there in that kind of game. I would never advocate leaving in starters, or changing game plans to pad stats. Just would have been nice to see the 2's hold em out. I kept thinking the turnover was coming, and it just didn't happen.

Nope. DV me to oblivion if you want but I don't like shutouts of weak teams like this. Let them have their moral victory. I don't think our defense should stop trying but I was silently rooting for them to put some points on the board. They were beyond overmatched and knew it but kept fighting to avoid complete futility. That shows a lot of character.
