See, I have a hard time believing we hired someone whose offenses looked like this. Is it possible that, being a defensive coach, he doesn't get heavily involved with the offense (a la Rex Ryan)? There are a lot of things I like about Grant, but these offenses look so anemic most of the time. Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I'd love to think we could overhaul the offensive coaching staff and see a difference.
I don't know a lot about basketball and certainly have no inside info on the program. I'm just assuming that, given how big a prospect he was, his offenses weren't this bad, and that if I'm right there has to be a reason. I'd appreciate insight from people who know more about this than I do.
Sometimes, its not the coach. Just sayin.... Yes, he can set and call plays to run. He can't run them and he certainly can't give the players the confidence to step up and make a damn shot.
Horrible shooting team, still. Sure, we have moments, and when we do we win games. But statistically, we are a terrible shooting team. Can't shoot - Can't win. Period.

Isn't that where recruiting shooters would come into play? Our basketball team has not had many pure shooters in the past 10 years. I know there are some exceptions, but it seems that way for the most part. Seems like we recruit athletes, not basketball players.
He's been here for 4 years. He recruited these guys and coaches them every day Either way, it's his responsibility
Yes,,, but they made open jump shots and lay-ups... But most importantly, he were quicker..
It's not the offense... Please watch other teams and you will see the movement is about the same.. watch UNC (on now),, if they don't get anything out of their break, they have less movement in their base offense.. or watch Texas right now..
Teams don't respect our big men (and rightfully so) and they focus in on our gurads and Cooper. Hopefully next year with Taylor and Hale coming in they can help expand offense
