Couldn't agree more, speaks volumes.
Their chance of beating Clemson is pretty much zero. The best case scenario for Auburn is that they don't get completely blown out of the Georgia Dome.
They aren't beating Mississippi St. in Starkville either.
Lets assume he puts up Chris Todd numbers, an incredibly generous assumption.
198 completions; 328 attempts; 2612 yards; 60.4 comp.%; 7.96 yards/pass; 22 TD's; 6 Int's; 145.7 QB rating
They would still need over 2, 700 yards on the ground to equal 2009's offensive output, which netted them a 7-5 record.
Clemson beat Auburn's ass last year WITH the same defense that gave up a million to West Virginia.
Ur giving clemson to much hype but i hope ur right i would absolutely love to see *U start the season 1-3
*U has crap QB's & crap RB's that have to play behind a crap OL. Oh yeah, they have to learn a whole new offense too. This tells me that they will probably play like crap. And oh yeah, they won't have a solid defense that would allow time for the offense to move up the learning curve.
They will be 1-4 headed to Ole Miss and internal fingers will be pointing. I can't wait!
I'll believe an AU loss vs MSU when I see it. Miss State NEVER comes through when they have a chance to beat Auburn.
I've been thinking that they've known since spring training that Frazier will be the starter, but are slow-playing the rest of the world. (Remember when they couldn't decide whether or not they had anything with Cam? Remember all those trick plays?) I don't think they want to reveal whether they'll do a lot of spread offense (Frazier) or pro style (Mosely). They think they're gonna keep Clemson's DC up all night worrying what Aubbie's gonna pull out of their hat. Not that they have all that much to pull out anyway.
Cam ain't walkin' through that door again. We've already seen enough of Frazier to know he sucks under the pressure of an SEC rush, and that's not going to change during an off season. He was tailor made and recruited for a Malzahn-style offense and Mosely was tailor-made to play in Conference USA.
I think this is right. You don't take a QB who's biggest threat is the run and put him under center behind a terrible O-line. Add to that, you only have RB's that have played in a spread offense. The most over-hyped guy on the team is the FB.
Auburn should be looking at a "Texas with Vince Young" style if they any hope of winning a few games. Of course they could be dumber than we think and try to run a pro style offense, we'll see.
The problem with picking a winner in the first game is...it's Clemson and I would never put mone on Clemson.
One thing on Auburn's side is Clemson only returns two starters on their OL, and AU's strong point this year is definitely going to be their defensive line. It takes more than that to win a game, but without Sammy Watkins in the passing game the AU DL could prove to be the difference.
Auburn was hoping Clint could get them through Clemson with Frazier taking over sometime around the MSU game. But Clints shoulder is a huge problem. He literally cant throw the ball deep right now. And Frazier aint ready. Even though Chizik, doesnt want to, he is going to have to throw KF in the fire against Clemson. And its going to be bad.
They can only hope what will be a better defense highlighted by a strong d line can get them through it.
So in a nutshell. The Auburn QB situation is a complete mess. Hence, the articles from Goldberg the last week about how great Wallace is and Johnson (recruit) is going to be. Its going to be ugly and they r getting the fans ready for the future QB.
Had a conversation with someone connected with AU today. So take what all i just said about as close to fact as it can be!
Couldn't agree more, don't think it has happened since 1999, so I'll have to see it to believe it.
Maybe KF does not know how bad he sux. He never came across as being the smartest guy.
Frazier is closer to the next Jordan Jefferson than the next scamputer!
