in this game and risk geting his players injured and elimintating UM from Big10+4 Champ and Rose Bowl game chances. Thats something I heard a couple of UM fans talking about last night. Evidently Hoke has let it be known to his constituants that he won't go balls to the walls to win this game and hurt UM's chances to get to the Rose Bowl. He is fearful that UM could face a similar fate as MSU did in the Cap. One bowl and get a lot of guys hurt. This might be one reason it makes leaving Fitz Toussaint behind a little easier. This is just something that has been rumored by a few UM fans that know what Hoke has on his mind. It appears that UM is going into this game just hoping to survive unscathed.
You don't actually believe that, do you?
It is posts like this that scare the hell out of me. No one thinks we will lose this game but this is a formidable opponent and we have a hound secondary trying to stop a good qb who can make you pay. I'll admit it. I'm nervous as hell about this game.
You play to win the game.
I could see him doing like arky did last year with Wilson. If the game gets out of hand and Robinson is taking a pounding he may pull him to save him. But I have no doubt Hoke will throw the kitchen sink at us trying to win.
Michigan analysts having been saying this week that they should limit robinson in the game plan to preserve him for the season.
I'm not saying this is something I believe Hoke would do. It's just been something I've read or heard about on more than a few occasions. UM bluebloods want to get the Wolverines back to the Rose Bowl and believe this is their time to do it. They have told Hoke to do what he has to do to get them there. Will that ultimatum trickle down to his gameplanning? We shall see.
I'm not one bit nervous about this game. D. Rob is their catalyst and he can't do it by himself. He doesn't posess the pure QB skills to take advantage of any weakness in our secondary that their may be. He is also facing a front 7 who can run sideline to sideline with him. He can't take the punishment of having our guys banging on him play after play. It's just not going to happen. This won't be a cakewalk but the difference in the level of talent on our side wil be very evident. If they keep within 17 then they did a mans job to keep it there.
No he just Throws in the white flag and gives the game to Bama. He doesn't wanna have any of his players hurt against big bad Bama.
Joking. What kind of question is that? Of course he is.

Sounds like a nice pre-game excuse to me
You play to win the game.
LOL! Good grief....
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.
Nobody gave USCe a chance against us either in 2010 with Garcia of all people at QB and oue defense made him look like Eli Manning resulting in the biggest win in the history of SC football. This is a big challenge for our defense and maybe our offense as well. There are some good coaches on that team who know how to take advantage of weak links on an opposing team. I'm assuming we won't see the devstating defensie collapses of 2010 but we do not have a veteran defense to keep this from becoming a dogfight and I expect our resiliency to be put to the test.RTR!!!
I would think Hoke would do everything he can to win the game tomorrow night. Hope we win boys!
Hoke comes off as a guy that's gonna try and win each game. He knows alabama is good but he also knows he has an electric qb and a team that is tired of hearing that they have no chance. I think he and the players will play hard to win the game.
While I think it's crazy dumb to actually think a coach for a top ten team would do this on this stage....we do have knack for knocking out QBs in game through the rigorous pounding. Either way, it's a big game and u play to win. If not, cowards flock the earth for food while kings sit back and rule. Yes we r kings
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
Sounds like fans making themselves feel better about the beating they are about to take.
Sounds like a built in excuse to me (just in case we take them to the woodshed)... much the same as leaving Fitz at home. Now they can claim both reasons on the backend of the season as they try to ease into a better bowl game.
I actually think you are right to some degree. We all remember Patrino yanking Wilson last year. I don't think he just rolls over or anything like that but he may pull key people out if he thinks there's little chance late in the game.
FACEPALM to the max.
