Not trying to knock the kid while he's down and nothing personal. But I loved every min of tonight's game, specifically the whiffs Te'o made. The kid got so much pup leading up and rightfully so but geez it was annoying. Are you telling me he is a better draft prospect than Mosely?? Will be curious how that plays out.
I'm sure the combine and his body of work will be the ultimate factor, but he sured looked subpar on the biggest stage. He's overrated for sure, though. He's not a top 5 pick, for sure.
An nfl gm would be foolish to draft him on the first round.
He is undersized and plays very reckless.
He's a smart player however he isn't all world like they say. Would he start for us?
He doesnt look very athletic to me and is not a good tackler in open space
No. I said this weeks ago and someone on this board was trying to tell me he was better than Hightower. Mind blowing.
Draft status should drop. And the front seven is nowhere near SEC like. Puhhlease!
A media creation exposed...ND hype machine...he will not be first round.
Should drop. Showed he can't play on the level he is accustom to against elite talent. No way he should have received all the awards he did. Just shows the advantages of playing for the medias darling.
Ok, sweet. Just making sure Im not the only one. Haha. Looked very average at best. Does not look as if he would translate well to the NFL. Hell Nico Johnson looks light years ahead of Te'o.
I agree with this
Probably will drop some, but then again his only competition for the first ILB off the board is Ogletree and he is viewed as being a much more raw and riskier prospect so probably not a ton. Te'O had a terrible game, but he wasn't the only person on that defense either.
Its just tough to ignore a body of work and only look at a single game. Would you have drafted Jeff Garcia based off the game he played against Bama? Would you not have drafted CJ Spiller based on how he played against Bama as a RB?
Also considering how he handles himself and who he seems to be will help him as well. Don't think you worry about this guy being lazy, missing practices, etc. And that matters to the NFL as well especially with a first round pick. Better to get a good talent in the first round that sticks around on your team than a great talent that just flames out.

It should. He'd be second team at Alabama, and Mosley was clearly the best linebacker on the field. It wasn't even close.

Jeff Garcia played against Bama? Interesting.
not sure if serious.
Coached by us, in our system? You better believe he'd start here AND be great.
His chance to shine ended when Bama's O-line stepped on the turf.
He's small, slow, doesn't tackle well, uses bad technique, takes bad angles, gets blown up by lineman, doesn't get off blocks, etc. He's good. Not great. He's "great" because he played at Notre Dame and played against average competition. I'd rather have Nico Johnson.
After watching him tonight I would be surprised if he goes in the first three rounds. He will be eaten alive in the NFL.
I have two things to say:
1- Honey Badger
2- Geno Terreta ( '92 Sugar Bowl quarterback for Miami)
Tons of hype for both of these players before facing Bama. Did nothing in their respective Games. Total let-down.
Yes it will.
Its one thing to be great against Navy, Purdue, Wake Forest and a few teams that are not very good but then he has to play against a team that has a very good oline and great backs then we see he is not that great when trying to tackle the Bama players. He is a nice young man but the teams that ND plays are not up to what Bama plays during the season, look what Ole Miss did to Pitt, bad calls in the Sanford game, Oklahoma was not very good this year. If he came to Bama then he would be "maybe" on the same level as Hightower, because the coaching is better here.
He's good but we have 3-4 guys like him every year. If he'd been in the Saban system there's no telling how good he might have been. He probably wouln't have been missing all those tackles.
