Yes, but as has been widely discussed and reported in the media, the transformation didn't take place until the Independence bowl that year, when the underclassmen that would be returning took control of the team. You can say that Saban was on the sidelines, but guys like DJ Hall didn't allow themselves to be coached.
Okie Dokie! I still count it. & I'm sure Coach Saban does as well. He did a great job that year imho. One of his best coaching jobs ever. Because it was more than wins & losses that year. That team could have called it quits. But it was the team that laid the ground work for 08 & beyond to me. Because they didn't quit.

The process was in place for 2 BCS Championships, the bottom line we are young on defense and it show on the mental lapse. we lost containment too many time.
