I LOOK BETTER IN CRIMSON!
Not a good job. See *U new DC.
Mama always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun. But Mama, that's where the fun is.

It's not a bad job. Bower and Fedora both won a lot of games. They are in a very good recruiting area. The 0-12 is absolutely awful which is why Johnson was a 1 and done. I think the winless record speaks more to what kind of head coach Ellis Johnson was than to what kind of job Southern Miss is.
Southern Miss is no longer a good job. I think the schools that have grown recently have taken some of Southern Miss's recruiting base (USF and USA in particular). I also think that with C-USA exploding into nothingness it would be a dumb decision.
I will also admit that I LOVE THIS REDZONE OFFENSE. McElwain never ever ever could get us in the endzone in the redzone. He could get us 500 yards between the 20s but my god we stunk in the redzone. So I definately am biased as I don't want to see Nuss leave.
I disagree about the recruiting base. Mississippi JuCo's can contribute nicely and with close proximity to South Louisiana, Alabama, Fl Panhandle, etc...I think there are plenty of Mid Major recruits to go around. South Alabama is decent, but they aren't on par with USM...yet.
I agree about C-USA though and there are a lot of good Mid Major teams in the Southeast that could make that conference very good.
