So is this good, bad, or indifferent for Bama?
Hmmmmmmm. . .
Fingers crossed...! Really want this guy in crimson and white! RTR!!!
Charles, is it possible that CNS called him up last night asking for a silent decision before NSD to get the final feel for numbers heading into tomorrow? That way CNS knows who he has room for and who he has to break the news to meaning guys like Adams, Reed, Poggi and wishfully thinking Conner. JMO
They can't call right now as I understand it. And lol at expecting Chuck and the boys to have a crystal ball on if this is good, bad or indifferent.
IMO, Vanderdoes is a definite maybe.
"Theres No Substitute for Guts"
Great point! CNS is about 3 miles ahead of us in terms of thinking...
I was under the impression that coaches got one call per week after the dead period started, from what I read in a post earlier this week. Can anyone speak to that? Honest mistake if I'm wrong
I think this is good, we need to know...not sure if the other two need to know...Vanderdoes can call all he wants.
"You don't always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve"
coaches can call.
What is a dead period?
During a dead period a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents, and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high schools. Coaches may write and telephone student-athletes or their parents during a dead period.

I dont really get the distance from home factor. If you really like the place, distance wont matter. Its not like bama is in Japan, have to cut the ties sometime a grow up, why not start incollege
i dont get the distance either. if you have to fly there is not much of a difference between ND and Bama. I am sure there is a direct flight from Sac to LA but still not exactly a 30 minute commute.
Exactly--and I imagine CNS told him on the visit "I'll need you to call by X during the silent period if you want the spot."

Here's a post I've made in a couple of threads. I'll post it here, also, to try to spread the info out to as many as possible because it isn't well known.
Telephone calls from institution coaching staff to recruits are unlimited this week from 7 AM Monday morning until 7 AM on Friday morning. See relevant sections straight from D1 manual below.
18.104.22.168.2 Letter-of-Intent Signing-Date Exception. Institutional coaching staff members (see By- law 22.214.171.124.1) may make unlimited telephone calls to a prospective student-athlete on the initial date for the signing of the National Letter of Intent and during the two days immediately following the initial sign- ing date. (Adopted: 1/10/92, Revised: 12/12/06)
126.96.36.199.2.1 Football Exception. [FBS/FCS] In football, institutional coaching staff members may make unlimited telephone calls to prospective student-athletes during the period 48 hours before and 48 hours after 7 a.m. on the initial signing date for the National Letter of Intent. (Adopted: 1/10/92, Revised: 12/12/06, 12/15/06)

Hopefully Saban will have Reese on this
My thought as well, fingers crossed.
Hope we get him. Having him as the dominant one on the line and Robinson as his side kick would solidify our defensive line for the next couple years.
