Paraphrasing: "Saban has an ulterior motive. He could squash the rumors if he wanted to but something is going on."

I think Saban recognizes that it won't matter if he attempts to squash the rumors. Should he say something along the lines of, "I will not be the coach of the Cleveland Browns," then people will bring up how he left Miami. Really anything he says is going to be torn apart by the media, as they really want this to be a story.
If I remember correctly, he has a bad record when coming out and attempting to quash rumors. Would rather hear silence than a denial.
Jmo Douchebaum plays for ratings. He made the comment earlier in the year about Saban being at Bama for the long haul. He could say the sky is blue and I'd have to look for myself.
LOL come on. All that intro was is a invite to call his show and talk about it. He knows Coach doesn't have to say a word and most likely wont until his next press conference. Its a Radio Show. He's doing exactly what he should. But he did just go to bat for Coach Saban as well. Very passionate...
I agree....I just think it's funny how everyone is running with this stuff now.
I don't think Kirby would have sniffed at the Auburn job if Saban was thinking about leaving. I would think he would have let Kirby know something was up since he would be a candidate for the job.
You mean like yourself?
Timing is everything - every coach in the SEC is praying for the day CNS bolts or retires so their lives become easier. With that in mind, they don't hesitate to try to plant rumors for the media to run with. It's no coincidence that all of this hits the fan right before the BCSCG and National Signing Date. If Bama can be derailed its all the better for the bottom dwellers. I will not be on CNS's call list when he does decide to go, but I am pretty d*mn sure it's not now and it's not for the Browns.
People need to quit losing sleep over this, he isn't going anywhere. If he does he has left the program 100 times better off than when he came here and we would have our pick of top coaches to continue the tradition.
Don't worry about stuff that you have absolutely no control over. Worrying is just counter productive and leads to hair loss.(g)
Precisely...somebody on Cowherd today basically said that. Because of the Miami thing no one will believe what ever he says, so why address it.
I'm not worried at all. I'm confident the program will survive should he move on. Look at LSU. Are they winning the BCS Title every year? No but they are always in the hunt. & if they didn't have to contend with Saban/Bama every year. Les might have won a couple more. & who built that program? None other than Coach Saban!!!!

Go listen to Cris Carter on the thread I just posted
Hang on a second. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. So just a few days ago Terry Saban, you know...the one who actually calls the shots in the Saban household, publicly said as far as she's concerned they are at their last coaching gig. So, Finebaum thinks Nick should come out and publicly say the same damn thing Terry just said?!?
This has all been stirred up over an pretty innocent, tongue in cheek interview from Terry. Saban has said on nearly every crimson caravan stop that he's retiring after this job. There's really no reason to lose sleep over this. And if he does leave, cheer him off and appreciate the enormous contribution the sabans have made to the university. He will leave the university tomorrow or in ten years 1000 times better than when he arrived.

This is nothing but media driven nonsense. Period! CNS will retire at Bama he has pretty much made this very well known. He listened to offers the last 2 years from the NFL that had astronomical financials attached to them. He listened and politely said no thanks. The man has put roots down in Tuscaloosa that he has never put down during his career. This is a non story!
Exactly...CNS has said often his next move it to Lake Burton.
My first sig!
Also worth pointing out that these people are pulling one sentence from her statement and making wild assumptions. A statement that was completely counter to their assumptions.
Saban can't say anything. Nobody would believe him especially considering they didnt believe his wife.
This makes the most sense.
Guys it is a dead period for the media. There is nothing do write about. Of course they are going to try to make a story. Not saying Saban stays or goes, just saying they are going to pounce on anything that gets people talking. And this does.
Why do we keep starting post about this? Judas Priest people!
Saban's next move, if not to the lake, is to the office down the hall.
