A Tribute to Coach Bryant
I am an alumnus of the University of Alabama, the husband for almost 30 years of my high school sweetheart, the father of 6 children that have all attended the University of Alabama where five are presently attending, an ordained minister and founder of Jeremiah Castille Foundation. I name these blessings that God has given me because of the opportunities they have afforded me. Who would have thought a young man growing up in Phoenix City, Alabama and living in a dysfunctional home with alcoholic parents that had a 4th grade education, could accomplish so much? The first thing I would say is with God all things are possible! God had a plan for my life and Coach Paul W. Bryant was a big part of that plan. The saying at University of Alabama among the football players is "Built by Bama". I really like it, but for me the saying is "Built by Bryant". The is true for me and all of the players he coached. Attending the University of Alabama in 1979 and spending four years under Coach Bryant instilled in me four words of which I live by today.
What I have learned from a great man named Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, is that life is about leading, being a leader and developing leaders, disciplining ourselves on a daily basis, building relationships to enrich our lives and sharpen us and valuing opportunities that come from the relationships we develop. I am truly a blessed man today because leadership, discipline, relationships and opportunities are principles that I learned from Coach Bryant. I was truly "Built by Bryant".
Roll Tide and God Bless

Any of you remember that one?

Excellent reminder or lesson for us all. Roll Tide
TRADITION IS THE FOUNDATION GREAT PROGRAMS ARE BUILT UPON.
Seabreeze's Dad here...
Thanks for the post from Jeremiah Castille.
Some of our younger fans that never got to know Coach Bryant must read this. Coach Bryant was a GIANT of a man, words cannot describe him.
His players would run through a brick wall (or try to) because of their love for him. He had a magical touch with his players. No coach was more demanding (including CNS) than Coach Bryant. He was mean, tough, hard, you name it. But he used that discipline to inspire his players to think anything was possible.
Jeremiah Castille's words speak for almost all that played for Coach.... a true love for the man.

Jeremiah,,,,,,I am in tears,,, Roll Tide
thx ......well said ......
Great post.. It is time to start a new saying,"BUILT BY SABAN", Roll Tide Roll
Simply put, that was awesome!
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
Thank you Mr. Castille for your words and insight. I think those values that Coach Bryant taught, are some of the same characteristics of Coach Saban’s ”Process.” Our beloved Paul Bear Bryant is smiling because Alabama is in such capable hands.
I hope all players and recruits will read your post. It is true insight into what Alabama football is all about.
I had the chance to spend about 45 minutes sitting by the pool in Miami talking with #19. I had never met him, i said "hello" and he came over and talked Coach Bryant, Coach Saban, football, faith, and life. Really neat.
