If you haven't looked yet, the point cutoff to order away game tickets for any game other than VaTech in Atlanta is 899. For A&M, I think it's about 2400. Gonna be some pissed off season ticket holders this year when away game tickets are allotted.
it's approx 1300 for A&M...not 2400...gotta love things being blown out of proportion
Put in for my 2 to VA tech. Will have to unload them.and find 4 together. Taking the kids
1300 or 2400. Doesn't really make a difference to 90% of tide pride. I've been in tide pride for 8 years and have a little over 100 points.
Yeah, blown way out of proportion. My apologies. I guess once I realized that the fact that I buy 4 zone tickets a year, and have since the south zone started, means absolutely nothing when buying 2 out of town tickets, the numbers just kind of mushed together. This will be the first year that I don't qualify for even ONE true out of town game.
Will buy your 2 if interested. PM if you are
Try having season tickets since the 70s and not having enough points for a true road game, if what you're saying is accurate. Crazy that I can get Championship tickets and not a road trip ticket, but guess its because we get so few from each school.
I guess where I am with it is that I'm glad my alma mater is doing well financially, I just can't see it being worth $130,000 of donations (assuming the number is 1300) to have the right to get 2 tickets to a good out of town game. Maybe it's just me. Happy for the school, bummed for me.
It's $100 per point, right? Isn't there also a different fund that you can donate to that give you more points?
There is. And you get one point per year of season tickets renewed. And they have specials each year. Even taking that into account, the number is likely over $100k.
Yeah, I'm just trying to get my head around how much it costs. I'll be graduating in May but living in Texas. I won't need to worry about buying season tickets for several years because I'd not only have to be able to afford tickets, but also 7 round trip flights from DFW to BHM every year. Once I can afford the travel, I'm going to work towards getting them.
Would it be smarter to just wait until that point and make a big donation to move up the list since I can't attend all the games now? Basically what I'm asking is there any point to the waiting list?
I think there probably is, but I certainly don't know. I did it in small increments, then a chunk for the zone tickets, then let my donation portion of the zone tickets take over.
I got 88 points bitches!!! Wait...OJ's number...it's an OMEN! AHHHHHHH
I feel your pain. We'll never sniff away or post season tickets from Tide Pride.
Dead on man....been in since 05 and I will just have to be content sitting in BDS watching home games. I can live with that (g)
Put your name on the waiting list and start earning points in other ways.
If you see a special, like double or triple points for donations by this date, take advantage of it when you can afford to donate even just $100. Get on the website and see all the ways you can acquire points. A lot of times there are things that you could be getting points for already.....or soon after you graduate that you will already be doing anyways. You just have to do it through the CTF or Tide Pride.
In the end though when you are ready to actually move up the waiting list and get season tickets, you will have to make that donation to pass up the rest of the people at this point. Obviously, you don't necessarily need to donate $130,000 to get home games, just if you want all or most of the road games as well.
My family are charter members of Tide Pride so I don't know what you would have to donate to get to the top of the waiting list right now (not sure if anyone does), but when the tickets were transferred to my name years and years ago, we lost the points we had at the time. Your points rise slowly, but once they start moving up, when you can afford to donate more and purchase more, they add up quickly at that point. There are different "clubs" involved depending on the size of your yearly donation to be able to purchase tickets in a certain sections. That donation money goes towards your points as well when you start moving up in the "clubs" you will really see you point total go up quickly.
I would go to rolltide.com and check out all the information on Tide Pride though.

I have 720, and you and I are in the same away game ticket boat, friend.
Look, go to A&M and take $100-200. You will get in. It is ridiculous the amount of "$upport" some things are.
Face value for A&M is $100 per ticket, FYI.
Thanks, I really appreciate the advice.
If you'd get ur dang gas prices up a little bit coming up with 100k prob wouldn't be too difficult, iyam.
No shit. I need to hang out with those people that know people that can get shit done, like those Friday boys that always manage to be EVERYWHERE all the time. Ha!
