since leaving WJOX, is Finebaum no longer on Sirius/XM?
Roll Tide Forever....No matter what!
He is not on Sirius now.
Not sure- I'm enjoying the Round Table.
The Dynasty is Here!
He has no place to broadcast from, thus no show until he signs a new deal. I doubt it will be long.
Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
You must have missed the earlier thread about fb. Apparently he has a 90 day no compete in his contract or so I read. If he's not on Jox he has to sit out for 3 mo's. I imagine he's in the carribean somewhere enjoying the hell out of it.
Cause he wants to base his show out of here in Bham so that he can still play Auburn and Bama fans off won another like he always has to cause drama. I'm pretty sure he can sign up with a radio station in another state and be back on the air tomorrow. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure I read about the out of state thing somewhere a few weeks ago.
He could set up shop tomorrow (in AL)and broadcast on Sirius. Don't think his noncompete has any bearing on that. He just cannot broadcast locally during this period. Nothing to do with where he sets up
well that's true, but what radio station would let them have their studios for 3 months and have dead air locally? Course I'm not savy on radio tech, maybe they could send his show and a show locally at the same time.
Im no radio tech either. How does Sirius/xm receive their feed for satellite radio?
Could be wrong but im guessing Paul could probably set up shop in his house and make it work
Course after doing this for 20 years, Paul just might be glad to have a 3 month sabatical.
To be honest it really doesn't matter to me, I rarely listen to his show anymore. All that bickering and drama seemed a lot funnier when I was in my 20s than it does now.
Hope he's never heard from again.
The Round Table is a completely different kind of show then Finebaum. I personally love it and feel like they all bring something to the table whereas Finebaum really was good at interviews and stirring up drama but he was heavily dependent on guests for quality sports analysis. I think the round table guys all know and love sports and it shows in their commentary. I also love that Dunnaway loves Bama and doesn't try and hide it like a certain Bama Qb on the OD. Sometimes I feel like jay goes out of his way to appear objective. It's annoying.
PF's contract with the owner of WJOX states that that company has the right to match any contract offer from another company for 90 days following expiration of the contract with WJOX (1/21/2013). PF doesn't want to give WJOX the opportunity to match so he is waiting 90 days. Once April 21 comes, PF will sign a contract with another station, probably 97.3 The Zone, and his show will once agin be syndicated by Sirius/XM.
This is the key to Finebaum to me, I don't think that he's really much of a student of the sport.
