@finebaum: Scene last night at Fountainbleau was craziest I've seen at BCS event with Bama players and coaches at center of mania.
Anyone on here experience it?
I was under the impression that the team had already switched hotels.
Can't speak for what was going on earlier in the night but no players were present after 10.
Yeah it was pretty packed.
John Fulton posted a pic on instagram saying the curfew was 11.
"Theres No Substitute for Guts"
Finebaum carefully chose the words "craziest" and "mania" for that tweet. Typical Paul trying to stir something up.
Feinbaum trying to make it sound cool,,,he dosent get out much,,,
Maybe, but I don't read it that way. Seems to me the mania would have been on the part of media and other members of the public in a bit of a feeding frenzy, with Bama players and coaches at the center of their attention. I didn't at all interpret it to mean that the players and coaches were the ones being manic. Think about the fact that coaches like Smart and Cochran and freshmen like Amari Cooper may have been accessible to them for the first time. I could see the media and others making a big fuss over them. That's all I got out of his remark.
Hush and let Bol panic!!!!!!
^^^This is how I read it as well.
That's exactly how I read it too, and I'm sure that's what he meant. He still used those words to try make Bama fans worried though. That's how he is.
This is all that matters to me. They can have all the fun they want as long as they are getting their rest.
Yep. Especially with the descriptions of media frenzy and pics given by C Walsh. Can't imagine the players and COACHES partaking in what the board is concerned this means.
Pretty sure he was being sarcastic - response to Jesse Palmer's & ESPN's comments about the team staying at the Fontainblue
Same here Gina. Consider this tweet:
Kevin Scarbinsky @KevinScarbinsky: Fight may break out here between photogs and videogs scrambling to shoot Saban and Kelly shaking hands by the crystal football.
at center of mania = center of attention (our coaches & team are celebrities)
I was there until about 2am. No current players were in the lobby past 10pm. The wife and I had dinner at Scarpetta at 10 which is in the hotel and Finebaum had just come from the lobby where he posed for the pics. He also ate dinner there at the same time I did. He did not come back into the lobby after dinner and neither did any current players. If he thought it was mania before dinner he should have seen it after.
Trent and Barron were throwing a welcome party. Ingram and McElroy showed later. Kirby came through on the way to his room after dinner at the steak joint there around 11 and Bobby Williams was also at dinner at Scarpetta. It was not what he made it seem for current players and coaches. Eli Gold walked through along with Dicky V. Nothing to worry over for sure.
I for sure saw two players out in South Beach around 10:15, so I assume curfew was 11.
Won't say who, but that they weren't doing anything illicit. Just enjoying dinner.
