Does anyone else find it surprising that FSU is ranked #10 in the AP? I mean I don't really disagree because I do think LSU and A&M are better. But I am a little shocked. And not sure it is really fair. lol. But I will take it! I think they should be 5 or 6 though..

result of being in the ACC. conference is even crappier than usual this year.
That's what playing in the ACC will do for you.
Some people bring a knife to a gun fight. Mark Richt brings a Super Soaker 2000.
If they beat UF, they'll be in the top 5 IMO.
Think it's just that they have been "rewarded" for being a paper tiger the last few years and always blow it against a completely inferior team, so I think voters are punishing them for it. It's funny; if the loss had been to Clemson, I think they might be getting more credit for being a one loss team.
Agree with your point though.
I really can't get a read on FSU. They have recruited lights out recently, and have some guys that can flat out play ball. I don't remember watching one of their games since Clemson. I know they lost to NC State, but I think that's a good football team down in Tallahassee. jmo though
Aside from Clemson, the ACC is a struggling conference. Traditional powers Va. Tech and Miami are down (Miami has been down for years). No one else is elite. FSU has moments where you really think they might be ready to take the next step but they always seem to have a head scratching loss each year (a .500 NC State team). If they beat UF, then they'll gain a lot of respect but not enough to jump another one loss team for the BCS championship game.
To get the title game, FSU will need to run the table in the ACC. The conference, as of today, just isn't strong enough to justify jumping a one loss SEC, BIG 12, or even PAC-12 team.
I still think its pretty messed up that they're 10th though. I think they're a top 5 team that could beat any of the current top 5 teams. I'm not saying they deserve it because they lost to a crap team, but I do think they're much better than 10th. at least top 6-7.
The AP has no meaning, so what meaning does it have for you? I'm curious to know.
Why do you think it's not fair? What do you think WOULD be fair? They have played one ranked team, lost to a team in the bottom half of FBS and have a horrible schedule. The best team they beat (Clemson) has no good wins and only beat Auburn by 7. Who would you say FSU deserves to be ranked ahead of? There is no one ahead of them with a lesser body of work. In the computers, FSU is ranked lower than Michigan, which should be a pretty good indication of how poor their schedule has been. Based on these facts, I think being ranked 10 is unfair to Stanford and maybe USC...
It doesn't matter. If they beat UF, they will jump several. Then they will have an extra game that others (including KSU and possibly Oregon) won't have. If ND loses, FSU still has a shot.
