Exactly...Last year was supposed to be the down year and we were to look forward to this year with high hopes. Well NEWS FLASH: We won it last year and our schedule sets up great. We have the "Bear Bryant" of this generation in CNS and if there is one person I would follow blindly, it is him. We will not win it every year, that is impossible. But growing up in the 90's and listening to all those barners hoot and holler during high school was worth every minute for what we have now. We will be fine this year and like every team need to avoid injuries, but I'd be lying to say I don't think I have a pretty good chance of being in Cali around the New Year.
My take on this is simple, "The defense that we have on the field right now will not face a better offense throughout the season than the one they have to see in practice. If they (the D) look bad, it's because of the conditioning that the last two National Championship Ds gave our offense. Now, our offense is giving the defense the work to make them better...and the cycle rolls on...ROLL MF TIDE ROLL!!!"

Good OP! So many people are worried about the backs, when they are being coached by Saban! Relax, and let the kids develop. They have 4.5 months to improve!!
Our corners are going to need to stay healthy all year. Not a lot of faith after the top 3 guys to be honest with not too much faith in the 1st 3. I think they will be solid to very good by years end. We just don't have that shut down guy this year imo, although I think Geno Smith will become that guy next year as he takes the next step.
The safeties will be a strength. If Collins can get the playbook down to a "see and react" level then the sky is the limit with him. Ha-Ha and Vinnie provide veteran leadership and I think Vinnie will do a lot better in a role more suited for his skill set
Eat clean. Train Hard.
Agreed Trevor. The summer is when this team will really begin to take shape. We need to let some of the injured guys recover. The leaders need to step forward and take ownership between now and the time two a days begin.
