Most national analysts and pundits are predicting a big win for the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday when they face off against the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines, but one popular blogger and radio host in Michigan is taking a different position.
Bill Simonson, host of the statewide Michigan sports talk show "The Huge Show" and blogger for MLive.com, predicted in his Wednesday blog post that Michigan will pull off the upset this weekend in Dallas, saying that Alabama "has no idea what is coming" from the Wolverines.
"Robinson will have a huge night in Michigan's upset of the Crimson Tide," Simonson writes. "Alabama coach Nick Saban never has faced a quarterback who can run like Robinson."
Simsonson questions Saban's coaching ability and believes Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison has proven himself to be a more effective game planner.
"He knows how to game plan against an opposing offense as good as anyone I've ever seen, college or pro," Simonson writes of Mattison. "Saban has won titles based on running the football, stockpiling talent and recruiting, and not a lot of out-of-the-box coaching. His style is boring and predictable."
Simonson also predicts the Wolverines will finish 14-0 and win the national championship, with quarterback Denard Robinson winning the Heisman Trophy.
"If Wolverines offensive coordinator Al Borges lets Robinson run to set up the pass, this will be a national championship season," Simonson writes. "He could have a Cam Newton-like senior season and carry the Wolverines to an undefeated season and win the Heisman. Newton was a better passer, but Robinson has better legs."
With most fans and analysts proclaiming that Alabama will win the game, including Las Vegas with its 14-point spread in favor of the Tide, Simonson believes Alabama will buy its own hype and take the Wolverines too lightly on Saturday.
"Alabama thinks that just by showing up, they'll win. My gut feeling is the Crimson Tide already are counting the win without playing the game."
"Alabama has no idea what is coming from Michigan's quarterback."
Michigan's quarterback has no idea what he will face Saturday against the Bama defense.
Wow...what the world looks like in Maize.

No, it will be the end of your season. Denard wouldn't see the 4th Quarter running the ball against Bama.
God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
Never Gets Old
Michigan played 3 decent teams last year and lost to two of them (Iowa and msu). The third, vt, gave them the win. If they are basing this years potential off last years illusion of a good team because of a shitty schedule then they are in for a huge surprise.
No doubt Michigan is on the way up, and Hoke's the guy to take them. But really :
Simonson has no way of knowing what Alabama's thinking.
No way Robinson's way better than Cam, who Bama kept contained. Except for incredible luck Bama would have won that game. Robinson may get loose a little, but this will be the best defense he's faced by far.
Whereas scheming can help an out-manned defensive line, I don't see how Michigan can stunt its way through the whole game. Really doubtful their offensive line can handle Bama's front seven either. Whether or not their stud RB plays, losing the LOS is just too much for a RB and QB to overcome.
Did they not try this last year?
"Simsonson questions Saban's coaching ability and believes Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison has proven himself to be a more effective game planner."
WHAT???? Dude has lost his mind.
Would also change "Alabama has no idea what is coming from Michigan's quarterback."
"Michigan has no idea what is coming from Michigan's quarterback."
I would say the same thing if i was a radio host... nothing to lose, and listeners, free advertising on message boards, and increased popularity to gain...
To steal a word from Michigan state, when Denard "armpunts" a throw we will pick him off multiple times. His big plays come from him launching the ball and if he does that against Bama he has no chance.
Havent faced a qb like D-Rob?!?!? I hate the bastard but Cam Newton is a freak. Dreadlock Jesus on the other hand is no where near as good as Cam Newton..not even close.
This guy is so full of fail if he really thinks Saban can't coach. Our team is focused and hungry, they haven't overlooked Meatchicken by any means at all.

I dont think anyone in our fanbase that understands football thinks we are just counting a win without playing the game yet. Michigan is a very respectful team that will give us all we want. They have players that are very concerning to our defense but hey most teams do no matter what school or division they play in. Whoever executes will win the game and its that simple. It honestly sounds like to myself that Michigan may be a little too over-confident at this point. I'm glad that these writers are giving Michigan a lot of credit and I mean this 100%. Its always a good thing when the pressure is off and we can just play and dominate. I think its equal on each side of importance of victory but my jist of the matchup is Michigan fans seem to be pressing for a NC a little too soon. What i'm saying is the pressure is on them and that is fine by me.
"Saban has won titles based on running the football, stockpiling talent and recruiting, and not a lot of out-of-the-box coaching. His style is boring and predictable."
Tebow, Cam, Tyrod Taylor, Jordan Jefferson, and Chris Relf would all say differently
The guy is getting blown up on twitter lol!
