Who was their coach?
Thank god , no one has done less with that kind of talent.
About time....Seems like they have always underachieved when you look at the talent that has come out of there.
For those of you interested.. I wonder who they will go after.. Word a couple of years ago was that Steve Smith of Piedmont would be a guy they may look at..
Gadsden City High School released a statement Friday afternoon saying head football coach Joe Billingsley has resigned.
Yeah Smith from Piedmont and Lee Ozmint from Glencoe High as well.
CLO is one heck of a coach.. He would bring discipline and a real plan for success to that program.. Not sure if he'd want it, though.. It'll be interesting to see who they hire..
Agreed... can't go wrong with a former Bama guy as your coach. Discipline is what the Titans need they always seemed like they didn't start playing until the 2nd half. Billingsley didn't have them ready to play in most games. To much talent on that team to be going 6-5 and not doing any damage in the playoffs.
Rush has a good thing going at Colquitt County, ( Moultrie,Ga), I don't really think he would be interested. Took a perennial power that had been down and brought them back to relevance. I think he made a deep run in the playoffs last year and has a good squad again this year. JMO though.

Completely agree.. I'm not a Gadsden City fan, but am familiar with their program and know several coaches over there.. I think they have had some good position coaches, but it's the head man's job to have them ready to go at 7pm on Friday nights.. I'm sure Coach Billingsley gave it his best shot, but it never did seem like he had full control of what was going on..
Paul Ellis from Fort Payne should get a look. Not sure if he would take the job though. FP is rolling right now.
Not knocking Ft. Payne or their coach, but they have underachieved.. Sure the regular season records are nice, but they are playing weak competition during the regular season.. Getting beat in the first round at home shouldn't be happening over there.. Sure Hartslle won the state title last year, but that was last year.. I would like to see what he could do at a place like Gadsden City, though..
Fort Payne has a great program and Ellis should get a look but they never make it to far in the playoffs. They usually meet there match in round 1 last week it was Hartselle defeating them.
yes i go to every game and there is a coach in gadsden that has won alot of games that is considering coming out of retirement.if he gets the def.coach that coached at miss.st a while back and a couple others that was with him, look out they have more kids in the sec for the last 7 yrs.than any school in alabama.been waiting on this day for 7 long long yrs.
LO turned down the job one time because his kids couldn't transfer without sitting a year.
This has Trooper's name all over it . . . Well if the Dallas job falls through.
