I would love to see them actually search for a coach but the political structure at that school rivals the Lowder years at au. Good ol boy network will hire a puppet.
With their facilities and talent pool, a first rate coach who has succeeded at a big program (Rush, Chip Lindsay, etc.) would be hell on wheels at Gadsden. Steve Smith, who is a terrific guy and great coach, seems to be comfortable where he is.

you r so right thats why im pumped finally if ,if they go and get a big timer.
The new coach will have to be a culture changer. They have a divided support system. Some lean towards the upper echelon "Douthit type" donors and others lean to the inner city pampering. If they hire the right guy that doesn't lean either way, look out IMO.
Luciano22, u r exactly right.. They need a coach that can get that inner city, it is owed to me thinking and start working hard in weight room and quit acting football and start realizing their God given talent and whip some tail. Stop settling for 8-3, 9-3 seasons
Jeremy Perkins was our LB coach at Thompson when I was there. He a great coach but an even better man! Thomas Curry is also a great coach. He is very intense. IMO Perkins would be my pick. He has also competed in the toughest region in 6A.

Steve Smith should be their first call! It's amazing what he has done at Piedmont! He was a year ahead of me in school and we played sports together all through school. As an old friend, I can say he is a great person, great coach and he is a lifelong bama fan. Oh and Ed Miller was our middle school football coach, so it's a perfect fit in my opinion!
Coach Smith from Piedmont has been a winner everywhere. If Gadsden City doesn't hire him, it will be their mistake.
i do think steve is great ,but i tell ya when u go against hoover ,mt.brook ,vestavia, spain park ,these schools have tremendous coaches legends when u get into he 6a playoffs u can have all the talent in the world but u better have a big time coach.jus dont know if he could make noise for deep runs in 6a.joe was a 3a coach and it showed ,we played mt.brook last 2 yrs.in playoffs on the field gc looked like they would kill them.but ive never seen so many sets on off.they ran in my life, their fans said the off.cord.had college level coaching we never could find the ball ,so its gonna take a big timer imo.
