Georgia's undergoing some rebranding with Nike and has a new secondary logo and jerseys.
Posted by: Chris Vannini on April 2, 2013 Georgia is the latest school to receive a new 'brand identity' from Nike. But unlike Arizona State or Oregon State, Georgia isn't making major aesthetic

did they change their secondary logo? what did It look like before?
Georgia has an identity problem that is very surprising considering they are located in Georgia and are in the SEC. Seems their brand would be stronger than it is.
I guess decades of underachieving coaches and a media fawns over your lackluster program will do that.
Don't like the new logo looks mid-majorish
It's been a number of different things, mainly the highly details Bulldog face with the red and black striped hat on.
A little bit of their identity problem within the brand is that they share their main logo with the Green Bay Packers.
I like it. No issue using their mascot - name in a secondary logo application. Like the numbers on that jersey as well.
Here you go. Scroll down to the second line which is Alternate logos.

As a brand/marketing guy, UGA is definitely going through an identity crisis. Extremely indecisive with logos, uniform schemes, font usage, etc.
Tradition rules in college football. See Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska. We fall into that category as far as staying consistent with our "on the field product", but we did slip up with our logo usage a few years back. I don't mind ditching the iconic elephant stepping through the A (love that logo), but to replace it with an updated. angry elephant was a fail.
If it works, stick with it!

No doubt. But whats the main common factor in those schools you listed? WINNING. at some point and time through the years...and for most winning often.
Funny how that adds to your brands value
Well as a former alum of UGA (and Bama), I can say that the uniform is fine, but I'm not sure on the logo. I don't hate it, but I don't like it. I can't tell if he's stoned or ferocious.
"Nobility is not a birth-right; it is defined by one's actions"
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Like the numbers, meh on the logo.
These rednecks here in Georgia will eat that Bulldog logo up. It will be on every pickup by football season.
What is different about the uni's?
Ditched the block numbers and went with the Steelers look
Looks like one if those default logos you can use when you're doing the Team Builder on NCAA!
"Secondary" logos are the refuge of those that cannot win championships. I'm not a Yankees fan, but they seem to do pretty well with the same logo they've had for over a hundred years.
We've had (and have) a few secondary logos, too, you know. It's not a bad thing.
You've got to balance tradition with innovation, even if only slightly, just to keep things up to date and not stale. I'm not saying you have to be Oregon or Maryland, but even we and Penn State and others have altered our uniforms, even if only very, very slightly. I'm not saying let's rebrand or anything, God know, but keeping it fresh isn't a bad thing.
But I agree on Georgia, they're having a major identity crisis here. I actually don't mind the new secondary logo, but it's been too much too often IMO.
UGA is following the continuum of too much information in both their unis and their branding, in my view.
They stole their logo from the Packers.
I'd say the bulldog logo is equally bad as the updated angry Big Al logo.
Even though I'm only 30, I'm old school. Bring back the old Big Al stepping out of the A.

Terrible. And their coach is still mark richt (unrelated)
Having a nightmarish flashback of the "angry elephant" when we attempted this.
Looks like they've been "Bockrathed"!
*Is it*, though?
