Sheldon Day #91 and Carlo Calabrese #44 on ND's defense are doing. That is some funny stuff right there...
#44 is mocking AJ while he pitches his fit and then Day goes to jumping up and down in what looks like and attempt to encourage the fight.
If you go back and watch it, type in here what you think Day might be saying.....
Day - "That's right Center!!! You been kicking my ass all night!! DO NOT let that Quarterback start pushing you around..... that would really make me feel bad."
Day: "We can't get a finger on him, so you take him down!"
Day: HELL YEH! Someone finally got to the QB
Yea I also noticed that and thought it was odd...
If it was 17-14, then I would understand it but 42-7?
OMG! I just went back and watched. I noticed #91 live and laughed at it b/c I had never seen anything like it. But I didn't notice #44 mocking AJ. That's even funnier to me. Thanks for pointing it out.
And I'm guessing 91 was thinking "hell yeah, at least somebody gets to push that little turd around." lol.
Here's my guess..."Hell Yeah #75...lets ALL kick that M%@#$F*^*ers A$$!!
"This is bulls/!t, you won't let us touch him but you get to push him around whenever you want"!
You're talking about our players arguing right?? Ha
No it seemed like the taunting / getting really excited about a delay of gain / trying to pump up the crowd / encourage dissension....was a bit unnecessary / silly from a team down by 5 TDs with a few minutes left.
No more silly than our players shoving each other on the Feild while up by a hundred...
I think it's a classic moment in tide history but if the other team had done that we'd be bashing the hell out of them.
delay of gain = the penalty against the offense while playing Alabama's defense
By the way, fantastic BOLism +1
phillipians 4:13 CAN-DO all things through Christ which strengthens me.
Hahahaha!!! I can see him saying something like this
I think it's funny how the ref comes in to break up a fight between two teammates.

Yeah, I got a little chuckle out of that too.
Delay of gain is not getting enough mention here. Add to the dictionary.
Now, that's funny!!
got to be one of the best yet!
i thought they were trying for a unsportsmanlike flag...but not sure how it works on your own teammates
We were all LOL Monday night when we saw 91 jumping around in joyful happiness. Now thats what I call "not having your head in the game, or knowing what the score was at that point". As if that would help them generate 28 points in the final 7 minutes or something. We sure have fun with opponents' moral victories dont we? hehehehe, silly Domers. PROCESSED, take that with a grade of saw.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
I shared this in the 4th quarter thread and will share again here. Something similar happened when I played at Niceville in 88.
We were playing Pensacola High and beating them soundly in the 4th. The right guard disagreed with me (center) on the blocking assignments when we broke the huddle. We argued loudly from huddle to line. He shoved me and I in return shoved him while on the line. The DT stood up and said "Damn, they are kicking our ass and still arguing about who to block!" Serious business then and really funny now.
By the way, it turned out that he was right after all :)
No. There is a huge difference than taunting when your down by 5 TDs and passionately trying to get it right when you are up by 5 TDs. You really don't see that?

I never played college sports, so maybe I'm wrong - but when oposing coaches and players got into it in games we always clapped them on. When a player gets T'd up in basketball you will usually see his opponents trying to get in his head..
I think the time or score is irrelevant to that. That is the first time I have ever seen an OL push a QB in a game in my life - and I think the ND players had every right to get a kick out of it and try to keep them going.
you dont get that?
I see it like this; he knew they were getting their lunch taken and there was nothing his team could do about it. They were going to lose and that was that. He saw the "alteration" and thought it was funny and took the opportunity to put his two cents of humor in the middle of it.
Truth be told, I would have said something also. Not to taunt but to incite, in what could be an attempt to deflect the impending crush I was about to feel in defeat.
Think about it, how often does something like that happen??? In that setting to boot....
Wonder if that would have been a first ever
Yep, and I bet ND was baffled. Here is the deal/what they will never understand:
Alabama players have bought into The Process. The players did not care about the score….or, how much time was left. They were simply trying to finish the game without mistakes. Probably for one of the only times this season, AJ and Barrett were not on the same page, and they both became frustrated by a position they have never been in.
I bet AJ was furious to have to take a time-out….then the delay of game flag….Saban throwing a fit…..perfect storm of everything against their Sabanization.
Probably more of an out-of-body experience for the two good friends….some kind of Yankee aura on the field…
That whole incident is a sign of Saban's line of thinking for our players. Who else in the country would be up by five touchdowns and get that pissed that something wasn't perfect? Jones and McCarron playing to a standard rather than the opponent.
