Mark Sanchez to start season finale due to Greg McElroy concussion, team announces
Rex on finding out about McElroy, who will be inactive now vs Bills: "Greg noticed the problem and went to the trainers
Yuck. The "c" word can be a career-killer in the NFL.
there was one play in that game late where he got hit by several at once, and he got up gingerly, and sort of didn't know where he was, then he looked to the sideline. It looked like a concussion then, even though he finished the game...
poor kid can't catch a break...
1960 Les Paul
you know you have bad luck when you finally get your shot and get this
sort of like brodie croyle with the chiefs
Yes, it's always terrible to see the underdog get a well-deserved shot, and then for reasons unrelated to on-field performance, when the spotlight is shining the brightest, they have it taken away.
Maybe he gets another shot next year, but you gotta think that the Jets will go get another QB and Greg's moment to steal the starting job may have passed with this injury.
I see what you did there...
well i think no matter how he played, he had no shot at becoming the starter. i think they will keep him to compete for the backup spot, while sanchez and tebow are definitely gone
hes not in a terrible place i guess
What the hell can you expect. It was like a flood once the ball was snapped last week. I'm suprised he finished the game.
Never Gets Old
Yup. In a roundabout way, this may have been the best thing that could've happened to his career. Didn't play great, but well enough for NYJ ( and maybe others) to wonder what could've been.
Career security. Everyone wants to play. But there's good money (and coach / gm training) standing on the sideline with a clipboard. Safer too
I think the fact that he ONLY got a concussion is a miracle given the OL. Wasn't he sacked 11 times, My God!
I hope he can continue to play. At the very least, I'm glad he's a bright guy that will very likely have a bright future after the NFL.
