* let me start off by saying I think ND is gonna give us a very tough game. With that said, I personally think Georgia is a better team than ND. Throw the USC game out earlier in the year. We all know USC has that one very good game each year. Georgia has more play makers on defense and the better qb IMO. Your thoughts ?
If UGA played ND, I'd pick UGA. So there's my answer.
I agree with you. I believe that UGA would beat ND if they played this year. UGA is loaded with talented players and they have a very good QB.
UGA has more talent and speed at size than ND but ND seems to play better as a unit (especially on defense). ND has also found out how to win close games that UGA didn't (however ugly they are sometimes). Most talented- UGA. Best team ND. Imo
I feel Kelly & his staff are better than Richt & crew.

ND can run the ball AND stop the run. Gawga couldn't get them off the field.
ND is better hands down due to discipline, staying in their lanes on defense, lack of high numbers of penalties like GA. GA is good but ND plays better ball as a team. We can't make the mistakes against ND that we made against GA and win. If our field goal attempt is blocked in the third quarter of a tight game against ND and they run it back for a touch down, game over. No way our offensive line will dominate them like we did against GA after a huge mistake.
I think we can win this game by double digits. I also think the ones selling ND short are fooling themselves. This could be a very tight game. Lets take a loot at the top teams we played all year. None of them were blowouts. Sure, we blew out other teams, but not LSU, aTm, or UGA. All three games came down to the very end and could have gone either way. Why will this game be any different?
I don't know but I think it can just because of how much I believe in this team. Facts really don't back it up any other way?
We made uncharacteristic TO's in all 3 of those games. I don't think any of them except maybe TAMU are that close if we don't have TO's. Of course that's part of the game but I am guessing we don't have any for the NC game. I think we learn from those mistakes.
Georgia has better athletes overall, but the problem with Georgia is that they're Georgia.
UGA is substantially more proficient on offense and Notre Dame is lot better on defense. UGA's front seven has a lot of talent (maybe even better than ND) but they don't get the production that Notre Dame does. Neither secondary is very good though Notre Dame again is more productive.
I think UGA would be favored modestly over Notre Dame but I would pick Notre Dame. All that said, objectively for us, the match up isn't close, because of the QB play UGA is a far more dangerous matchup for UA. I don't mean that as a slight toward Notre Dame but I would think that UGA has a much better chance of beating us in one game.

ND is the better team. UGA is more talented. ND would slow down UGA offense and ND would have success running. I would pick ND to win if they played but if it were a 10 game series you could probably split it.
Bam. Nail on the head. +1
i dont think it really matters how good either of them are. just like last year in the loss to lsu regular season it was easy to see who had the better team as alabama simply did not play well. vs georgia alabama could not have played any worse and still won the game. georgia was not as good as the final score indicated, they had a lot of help. that said nd has gotten by a fairly soft schedule with mostly close wins. their "great" defence has not seen the likes of size and speed they are about to encounter. their offence that has not put up great numbers has not seen anything close to a defence as well coached and diciplined as will take the field on Jan. 7. Alabama 37 ND 17(maybe).
Choose not a life of limitation
Georgia is better . . . by far.
Notre Dame has better coaching . . . by far.
If the two played the game would be a toss up. I would lean Georgia though.
The only thing they worries me is after the opener (ducks head for cover) this Bama team hasn't played its best in the big games. UGA, LSU, aTm, they sort of struggled in those games. We've dominated lesser opponents but the teams that came to play have gave us fits. I believe it was due to injuries ( I believe AJ's back was injured since Miss. State) but how healthy will we be by 1/7?
It's because those were top 10 teams, and 2012 Alabama is good but not great.
