I was in someones office today and right behind his desk he had a framed print showing the 97 Kentucky win over Alabama. I couldn't pay attention to what he was saying, all I could think of was how pathetic it was to have a large framed print taking up the major wall in your office commemorating a single win for your program against a team not having its best year 15 years ago. He should stick with basketball. Damn it is nice to be an Alabama fan. I guess I'll see the same type thing in South Carolina in 15 years.
I think you were more offended by how quickly we fell and how badly we sucked.
That one really sucked.
Consider it an honor..It is the same reason all of the games on ESPN classic are Bama losses...A win for a team against us is considered a classic...
This is a good point.
Is that the game where Couch threw a long TD as time was running out? That game scarred me for awhile.
Get your own big print commemorating our bball win over Kentucky last year.
Or you could get 36 prints to commemorate each of Bama's all-time basketball wins over Kentucky.
My God, I remember that one. Worst road trip of my life, senior year and my buddy was covering the game for the Crimson White. We got to town at midnight the night before and found all the bars closing already. Next day we lose to those chumps. Just a miserable experience. I refuse to set foot in that state ever again.
I hired a secretary that moved here from Tenn. She was running her mouth the second day about Ky winning that game. It was as you say very hard to keep quiet, but I remember what I was told one time, "Even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut"
Hard to keep your composure when it's time to get loose, magnatized by the mic when you kick your juice...if there was a problem, yo you'd solve it, check out the hook while your DJ revolves it.
I was at the game as well, very depressing at the time. I asked my wife out for the first time the next day and we were married 10 months later. My first time back in Lexington was when we moved here 6 months ago. People occasionally mention that win to me, but they all change the topic to basketball very quickly. RTR
In Valor There Is Hope.
Is that you Ice?
I believe it went into OT and they won it there... Took 'em 75 years to do it.
One of DuBose's worst loses with UCF being THE worst.
Yep, just looked it up... 40-34 in OT---
"Tim Couch completed a 26-yard touchdown pass to Craig Yeast in overtime as Kentucky stunned Alabama (No. 20 in the Associated Press poll), 40-34, last night in Lexington, Ky."
