Several of my buddies are considering going ahead and booking a moderately priced hotel for 3 nights. Anyone recommend hotel and good area to have fun and be somewhat close to the stadium? Thanks
You should book a handful of them and sell the reservations to fund your trip!
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
South Beach is where the fun is. However it's 45 min or so to the stadium i believe. Most Bama fans I know are staying in South Beach.
Had some friends talking about staying at the Hard Rock and driving over as well..
The other option would be Fort Laud and drive over for the game
What happens to everybody else has nothing to do with us, understand?”
I did Hotels.com for South Beach yesterday and got a nice room on the beach. Great thing about that is you can cancel up to Dec 21 as of yesterday just in case...
It's been a while, but I would probably spend the extra $$$ on a decent hotel. I've stayed at the Four Seasons and Hyatt close to the Orange Bowl; Heard good things about the Moderna, never stayed there.
I would consider getting a hotel on South Beach or North in Fort Lauderdale for the weekend for 2-3 nights then getting a hotel the night of the game. Just make sure you get to the Orange Bowl early enough. Only problem is that going out is pretty pricey in these areas. I did buy Lennox Lewis a drink on South Beach. He was just chilling at the bar by himself.
If i go, I'll be down there 1/5-1/8.
Considering staying out at Doral. sB is a bit much for me for 3 nights
Check this out. It's a website run by Bama fans.
Uh, I wouldn't suggest going to the Orange Bowl at all. Mostly because it no longer exists.
Just about anywhere you go by the beach is going to be very active over the weekend if that's what people are looking for. Hollywood Beach, Ft. Lauderdale Beach...even Deerfield Beach has a pretty good night life. However, if a lot of fans are staying there, there is something to be said for being with your own kind. I might have to head down and check it out.
Bought my airline ticket today. DFW to FLL $128. Damn good price!
Is that where the nude beach is located?
I spend a lot of time down there. There is really 3 ways I would consider going:
1). South Beach - most expensive, best nightlife, best walking around, will make the best long term impression.
2). Downtown Miami - cheapest, need to cab for restaurants and nightlife, pretty but not much within walking except Baywalk or Brickell.
3). Ft Lauderdale beach - mid-priced, nicest beach, more relaxed nightlife and restaurants, Las Olas is a cool entertainment area within walking.
Hampton Inn Miami Brickell is nice. I stay there when I'm on business in Miami.
