This is a good one...
Haha. Yes! More please!
Warning: info posted by PM above is retarded!
what an absolute moron....and the Branch Barnidians over there eat up his BS.
That is accurate if you think about the fact that it was in 2006
Eat clean. Train Hard.
Wow that came back to bite him rather quickly
Cool story Phillip. Funny how your written opinion makes you look like an unperceptive horse's a$$ after only a little time. And you know it's not good when, like the barn is now, you're ranked 4th among college coaching jobs currently available. Keep up the good work bro.

Alabama has never been the 6th best job in the SEC. The 6th best job in the SEC is job where you can occassionally win the league and maybe a couple times every 50 years compete for a NC. If Alabama is the 6th best job in the SEC then Nick Saban needs a serious pay raise. He is dominating the entire world of college football with the 6th best job in the SEC?? Come on man...
I kind of disagree with you unless you're saying that the value of job is always on a moving target; for example, if a school is entering a period of severe sanctions whether a job is currently attractive changes. But PM's conclusions for why Alabama ranked 6th in the SEC were broader and more permanent - i.e., bad recruiting base, unrealistic expectations, antiquated tradition - equating us with notre dame in terms of irrelevance. Clearly, the stars aligned when we got Saban, but his hiring shows that Alabama is perfectly capable of being an elite job because of fan support, recruiting ability, branding, resources, facilities, etc.
His conclusions were completely wrong.
Can't believe that mouth breathing dumbass is employed by this network.
Unrealistic expectations, eh?
And Auburn had a geographic advantage like ND had a schematic advantage.
he basically argued that Auburn is a better job period. That there are 5 jobs in the SEC with better resources etc..than Alabama..I dont care if Alabama is 0-12, its never the 6th best job in the SEC
What a freaking moron...
What a dumb A$$.
I think people over here are a tad hard on ole PM... he writes for a subscription based readership.. (i.e. he supplies a demand) Therefore true objectivity is not good business practice and never will be. Bias is everywhere. His father, Benny, was perhaps as fine a sportswriter as I have ever read. You guys should look up some of his articles sometime... they're fantastic and I do not think Benny Marshall took a backseat to anyone; particularly today. In 2006, it's hard to argue that we were any better than the 4th or 5th best job in the conference... if you are being truly objective; because we had just gotten done firing our 3rd Mike in the past 7 years and the best coach during that span left us to be the head guy at the "Auburn" of that particular state... then his conclusion is not that far off. If you recall... since Saban arrived... the Bear Bryant video comes on much earlier now. We finally have a coach that is leading us into the future instead of a fanbase that is lost in the past.
Can you find his preseason SEC predictions...that would be hilarious.
They could hire George Costanza as their football coach and ole Philip would write about the unprecedented genious of the famed au lore.
Basically he serves as the au fan "happy" coach.
You don't have to go nearly as far back as 2006 to find delusional pro AU BS written by Phillip that has proven to be not only wrong, but that Phillp tries to act like he never wrote, such as his praise of Chiznik and the outstanding program he had created as recently as this summer.
Idiotic jerk--you can't be so biased in your thinking that it shows through on everything you write to the point of making a complete fool of yourself.
