I find myself hoping our players read/see things like this. I remember how unbeatable that UF seemed back then with respect to the rest of the SEC. I think about how USC seemed in the mid-2000s...
Then I think about "The Process" and I no longer care if our players read this or that comment. I am not worried about them forgetting how bad a loss hurts. Now I hope they remember the standard and doing their best on this play and taking the lessons learned to the next play. If our guys play their game, this is one is over before the 4th quarter, I don't care how talented LSU is.
The Eye on College Football crew scans the weekly lines for a straight-up shocker or two -- for entertainment purposes only, of course.
Typical media crap. The guy says Alabama hasn't been tested... Then look under Miss St, who he has beating aTm- Miss St got beat up by Alabama but a lot of teams have gotten beat up by Alabama. Same crap all year. Anyway, the guy is 5-9 on his picks so "grade of saw"
In case you didn't know, we are the overwhelming favorite for this game. If anyone has material to get them fired up it would be LSU.
He's also calling Texas over TT...guy is an idiot
Uh, guys? These aren't all the same person.
Chris Huston picked LSU and said we haven't been tested.
Tom Fornelli picked MSU and said we do that to a lot of teams.
Matt Hinton picked Texas and for some reason was given the writing credit.
That being said, Huston and Hinton are both wrong.
Under CBS "Expert Picks" They all pick us straight up.
College football picks straight up and against the spread by NCAA football experts throughout the regular season and bowl games at CBSSports.com.
There is nothing that can be said or written that will derail our team right now. They are focused. Now they have to execute, avoid negative plays or turnovers and avoid penalties. Its that simple, but it wont be easy.
5/9 picking just underdogs on a straight up basis is really damn good. Hope he misses though.
Chris Hutson is an idiot, yes. Matt Hinton is not. He's one of my favorite sports writers. I'm not sure why he's listed as the writer if the article since it's multiple people making picks.
But although he may guess wrong every once and a while, it would not sour me on him. it's all opinion till the game kicks off. The guy is intelligent and hilarious.
If you want to read Matt Hinton's true opinion if Alabama, read this...
seriously, no matter what, read that article from after Michigan.
this might be the greatest quote every regarding Bama, and it's from Matt Hinton:
Every year, though, it gets a little clearer that thinking about Nick Saban's program in the standard terms of "rebuilding" or individual attrition is missing the point: The program is not a collection of individuals, subject to the unpredictability and inconsistency of mere mortals. It is a machine, a Death Star, and the players who cycle through it are only cogs in its punishing, pitiless pursuit of world domination. They're the best cogs, of course, top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art, blue-chip cogs, but ultimately one will do as well as the next. There is always another cog. And as far as Alabama is concerned, sitting around wondering whether the new cog is going to work as well as the old one makes about as much sense as a hammer factory wondering how its next generation of hammers is going to uphold the time-honored tradition of bludgeoning things.
Still think he's an idiot?
I normally don't care about down/up votes, but WTF to someone downvoting me for this.
I was simply stating that things that this author points to as reasons for an upset do not bother me anymore. I have been "processed" if you will to believe the only thing that can beat this team is this team itself and that is unlikely to happen b/c each play and everything they do is compared to perfection.
Some people on here have very low reading comprehension.
Sure, an upset is possible, but at this point there is no logical explanation for picking LSU to win this football game.
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Cor 10:4
Who the heck is Hinton?
Like Saban says "If you need anything to get up for this game something is wrong with you".
