In reading some threads about the Vols' financial woes, I came across this site which gives financial for every team at every school where the info is available (maybe not private schools). Our rowing team posted a net profit of over $500,000. Anyone know how? The only other teams in the black were football and men's basketball. I thought it was a pretty amazing fact. Were there private donations to the rowing program that account for it?
Either this website doesn't exist or is not currently available.
Lots of car washes.
They rowed their a$$e$ off

It has to be donations -- and the school has been raising funds to upgrade the facilities.

River bud IMO
Correct me if I'm wrong....but they were never really swimming in debt.
HELLO!?!?! IS THIS THING ON?
Larry Davis is a former personal trainer and former fitness director at the Tuscaloosa YMCA. Great guy and alot of influencial people in TTown know and respect Larry very much. I would imagine that helps his rowing program quite a bit.
Live and Breathe "The Process"
From the Gulf, up the Tombigbee, then up the Black Warrior...offloading there by where Rose Towers used to be. Helluva long trip in one of those sculls. What do you think they were smuggling?

It is one of the few women's varsity sports that allows partial scholarships.
They won three bass fishing tournaments trolling out the back.

Saban starting a winery. Could be a big seller.
Just to clarify, women's rowing became a varsity sport a few years ago.
As for the new facility ...
It's a 11,163 square foot athletic facility with specialized storage for sculls, support boats and rest room. The project’s estimated cost is $3.89 million, which is being funded by the Intercollegiate Athletics Quasi-Endowment with a repayment anticipated over 15 years.
The project completion date is slated for July 2013.
They must have paddled their ass off for $500g's. Seriously, I heard the tickets for the paddle contest are like $100 a pop. Wine and cheese extra
