These for me and "aight"
It is what it is
I talk about controlling the things I can control relative to the process and not worry about the results.
I say "relative to" all the time and my friends call me out on it and call me Saban
RIP Lil Julio
The one I find myself definitely using the most is the "Standard" one. My wife likes to try and compare our problems and strengths to other couples that we know and I always bust out the...."Sweetheart, we're not trying to be like those other couples or even be better than them. We have a standard in our relationship that we need to be striving for each and every day, from the time we get up to the time we lay down. We don't compare ourselves to the other families....it's, "did we do our best to meet the standard that we have set for ourselves today?" and if we didn't, then we've failed...and if we did, then we're champions....I mean in a beautiful relationship."
I told someone not to "spit the bit" once when they were thinking of dropping out of college... got a strange look.
I used "making pizzas" as a way to say throwing up for a solid year after Saban said it.
I use "relative to" all the time.
“The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.”
I tell the kids on my team that they are too result oriented.
