Does the hype of the one shining moment get us in?
We are all over espn
No, but it gives us good momentum going into the SEC tournament.
It can't hurt anything
Blowing the 17 pt lead was worth that finish. Never seen Bama win with a half court shot. Great way to celebrate the 100th anniversary. Team still has the same issues, but great to win a game like that. Roll Tide!
The last great buzzer beater I remember was Anthony Brock's shot against Tennessee, but Releford's shot was behind half court. Absolutely amazing.
It will be good ESPN buzz until the tourneys start taking up coverage on Wednesday. Then those games will take over. I said before the game that winning this game would not push us in, but losing would kill us. The win at the buzzer definitely though will create momentum though which we need for the Tourney.
The Pettway winner against Florida will always be the greatest but this is as close as it gets.
Was there and was the most electric I've ever seen Coleman from start to fabulous finish. Had a lot on the line and game lived up to the hype of the two top 10 teams.
Pettway against UF for the SEC reg. season.....man I was sitting behind the basket. I thought Coleman was going to cave in.....
If and only if this shot had been during the SEC Tourney... we mightve been all in there like swimwear..
I'm pretty much always on your side in bball discussions Scott, but I think the fact we needed the half court shot could hurt more than help. Granted, that's really splitting hairs, but I think it balances out at nil regarding the shot itself. Just win, that's all that matters now.
The only chance Alabama has of making the NCAA tourney is to win the SEC tourney. Buzzer beaters don't get you in, or even get you noticed in the committee's eyes--they're looking at numbers, not highlights on ESPN.
Don't think it'll influence the committee at all.
All that matters to the selection members was that it was a win -- even if it was against a team Alabama should have beaten regardless of the shot.

Considering that the dude was driving from the free throw line when he lost the ball, I'd say Georgia is getting pretty good at coming up 5 yards short against Bama.
Even though your correct....they didn't mention that during the replay of the #1 play on Sportscenter....I think it would have had more weight if it was an away game...we need to win two in ATL before we get in the conversation, and that might not be enough...I hate when we are constantly in this "bubble watch" scenario..seems like we never get a coach post Wimp that has us playing our best ball at the end of the season into the tourney like Wimp did....
