I could tell you a few stories that would help you.
Here, this should help.
Youre gonna hear a lot about Notre Dame over the next month or so, particularly from media types like Tony Kornheiser who have spent the past 20 years holding back a collective tidal wave of jism, waiting for the program to return to prominence so that they can declare how good it is for college football that Notre Dame is good again. The idea that Notre Dame serves as an EKG monitor for the overall health of college football is a lie, of course. Notre Dame has sucked for decades, while college football has been growing and thriving (and will finally realize its full potential in 2014 when a national playoff begins) over the same span. Whether or not the Irish stumble their way through a handful of wins against shitty service academies to find themselves in the national title game has nothing to do with it.

Tim Brown said on a call in show that the Domers didn't have time off like us because they had mid-terms. What the hell does he think we do in December at UA, learn how to start fire with two sticks? Talk about an elitist!
I was 10 yrs old in 73 and still remember having my heart ripped out by that game. Monday morning in class, some Aubie was holding up a 24-23 sign, because we beat the crap out of them every year. Screw em all! The Domers are in for a beatdown!!
Relax, you will learn to hate the "better than thou DOMERS!"
This man is an awesome guy. If he hates ND that's good enough for me. Preach on Preacher! As for Auburn, everybody hates them. HOPE all is well Mark.
Hate'em anyhow. It's worth it!!!
I also don't hope it's a good game. I hope we beat them worse than we've every beaten a team before!!! I want to completely humiliate them on national tv!!! Anything short of complete humiliation is a failure in my eyes!!!

28 Hate list : 1. Notre Dame 2. Tennesse 3. Auburn
You are a scholar and a gentleman.+1
How can anyone love the tide and not know its history? Bama became a powerhouse in the 1920s. It's a long glorious history, and the winning began long before Bryant was coaching.
I pull for Bama, anybody playing the Barn,Tenn. and ND! RTR
Tell it brother. I was 13 and there for the 73' Sugar Bowl in Tulane stadium.
I don't remember 1966 but I read the "Missing Ring". I didn't know who CWW was who started our entire tradition in the 20's but I do now (thanks in part to the historical series BOL). You didn't have to be there if you'll read a little and understand your Bama football heritage. If you don't hate ND then you have to go read the "Missing Ring" or the "Last Coach". If you don't hate them after that then we might have to pull your Bama card.

My dad hated notre dame. Well that's good enough reason for me.
If you're a Bama fan and you understand that football was played BEFORE you were born that significantly shaped the history and life of the Bama football program, then you should follow along and hate where hate is warranted! RTR
I understand the History, I just wasnt around to see any of it. Like most of you, Ive got a shelf full of Tide books, but being only 28 all the ND bitterness came before me. But hey, If yall hate em' and we are Bama Bretheren, I hate em' too! ND sucks at life, Haha!

Follow me on twitter, @BSCTIDE. Let's tweet.
I'm younger than you and I hate them more than the barn and UT. I guess my dad started my ND hate early.
I wasn't born to witness the games in the 70's but I do remember the last 2 games in the 80's. I remember walking out my back door to my grandpa's little camper and watching the game on a little bitty color tv with him. A great memory. But back to hating, yes I hate ND. I always wanted to play them again and finally we get to on the biggest stage.
I respect them, but I also despise them. I've seen, read, and heard of too many times when ND has stolen Heisman trophies, regular season games, post-season games, and championships from teams and players on numerous occasions. This includes plenty of teams other than Alabama.
Watch "The U" again. Even though Miami isn't everybody's favorite either, that 1987 ND vs. Miami game was stolen from the Hurricanes.
Manti Te'o is a great linebacker, but look at some stats of previous linebackers that weren't considered Heisman finalists. I'll go outside of Alabama again. Look at Tony Taylor from 2006 UGA football. He had 96 tackles, 7.5 for a loss, and 7 interceptions. Guess how many Heisman votes he got?
For Alabama 1966 and 1977. That's really all that needs to be said.
They get a lot of credit for things that they effectively stole from other players
A number of questionable / bad calls have helped their season so far. My biggest fear is that it is a close game the refs can impact.
I'm with OP. I cheer against them, but I'm in my mid-20's and have no recollection of them being a decent team.
same here haha. I'm going with my Dad to the game. He's still pissed about '73
