So you are impressed by not winning the west and sh!tting the bed against OSU in a bowl game?
God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
He has been in two BCS bowls. Lost one and beat Jim Grobe in the other. Petrino’s defenses have given up an average of 4,149 yards per season and 25.7 points per game.. He has never beat a top 10 team on the road and is 3-10 all time against the top 10.He fielded the only SEC team in history to lose to Ohio st in a bowl. The thought of him going head to head with Saban in a recruit's family's home is hilarious considering his scandal. He was 0 for Saban at his zenith. *Crosses fingers*
You shouldn't have just ended the thread IMO
But but but...the offense and stuff.
LOUISVILLE! and other things.
If that season included 10 wins, then yes I am impressed.
Bottom line is, Petrino coached teams win football games, and a lot of them at that. If you want to see *U winning football games, root for them to hire BP.
Pick two for au that you think will lose consistently and that we could laugh at (These are realistic candidates)
Gus Malzahn (My 1st choice btw)
The point you are missing is that they are going to hire a coach that wins football games. If they planned to lose they would keep Chizik. I would much rather them have someone who has already shown they can't beat Saban and also struggles with Miles. I would also like them to hire a coach who sucks at recruiting and make in-state battles easier. It also would be nice if they had a coach that sucked with defenses. We have all of that bundled up in Bobby P. I get you want them to go 6-6, but its not like its Petrino or 6-6.
I don't anyone has even mentioned the trouble he will have getting coaches to actually join him with his history. On top of that the NCAA is still lurking in the shadows. Dear Lord please let this happen.
Auburn could do far, far worse than Petrino.
This is why I see Trooper & Luper staying. They don't really care. & nobody will wanna hire them at another school.

Lose consistently? The only one's who would have a chance of losing consistently would probably be Kirby and Gus. The others have already proven they can win.
Edit: assuming you mean lose 4-6 games a year on average.

I think Bobby is a good coach. But remember, in 2011, there were two good teams in the west: Alabama and LSU. he lost to both of them. Ole Miss is getting better. A&M is now in the west. I think he will do well at AU, but it wont be as easy as it was IMO.
Arkansas was a good team in 2011.
Vince Lombardi was asked how it felt to have the best football team in the world. He replied, I don't know. We haven't played Alabama yet.
I agree they were. I also think there are 6 teams in the SEC this year that could also beat that team.
