6-7 because we know they'd go to a bowl. Rewarding mediocrity is what college football is all about these days.
Given how desperate they are to not lose even more ground to Bama, would they jump ahead and show him the door? Or give him one more year to right the ship? Two more years?
If Petrino is available, I think they'd ditch Chzuk and try for the slimey guy. But then again, they are God's squad, so that pairing doesn't seem to mesh.
I mean you can't really judge him on this year. Team's so young....
Depends on whether his recruiting class is in jail yet or not...
no way...he's there for the long haul...it would have to be a momumental collapse this year to even turn his seat on warm...like 3-9, ole miss kind of bad
I don't see him being canned 2 years removed from a national championship, strong recruiting classes, strong fan support, and $5 million remaining on his buyout. I think he can go 6-6 this year, and maybe his seat start getting warm/hot in the 2013 season. The fans have already seemed to concede this season so I don't see them turning. If Bama wins it again this year or next, and they keep getting blown out by the top teir teams in the SEC, it wont take much longer. I also think it depends on what coach(s) are available too.

God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
Doesn't matter really. Pat Dye calls the shots. Whoever is there is just the figurehead/fall guy.

I hope they keep him for a long time.
No way. He's 30-10 since he's been at Auburn.
Here Are a few things to consider. Petrino is not that great of a recruiter. he would be going head to head with the best in the game. Would he allow luper and trooper stay on the staff? Trooper coaches receivers, and does a horrible job at it. Luper coaches runningbacks and I think he gets lucky by having good talent to make him look better then he is. Would Petrino allow them to stay to help recruiting but possibly change their jobs? The bigger question is, would Petrino play by auburns rules on recruiting? I don't think he would be "all in." So that may be a big hang up on him coming to the barn
Because he's so morally upstanding?
5-7 with another round of blowouts to UGA, Bama, Arkansas, and LSU, and someone on his staff having something to do with the Memphis grade changing stuff would be hard to ignore. I think if all the aforementioned happened, and the Alabama game was exceptionally bad, say 45-0 they could (and probably should) make a change.
I could see them going after James Franklin or Larry Fedora (if he has a big year at UNC, which they likely will). Chrlie Strong and, of course, Bobby Petrino would get a look.
Yep. He's never produced less than 8 wins and he has an SEC/BCS championship. Something has to go way wrong for him to be fired.
I just don't think he would be down with the auburn way. chizik is a puppet. I don't think Petrino would allow himself to be dyes b###h
no way IMO
Everyone is overlooking the obvious reason they even got him with a crappy record. It was bc they needed someone who would allow money to b passed around and look the other way. All the other coaches have to much ego to let that happen. Y else would they get a coach with a losing record with no recruiting history to combat CNS. All of a sudden they start recruiting out of their minds. If u don't think the barn is dirty u are just dumb my friend.
WHO FREAKING CARES?
You are kidding right? Two 8-5 seasons and a fluke? You would rather they have Petrino?
No they will blame it on a young team and a new staff.
Do you think they see 2010 as a fluke? It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks.
He has had top recruiting classes every year he's been at auburn and isn't even ranked in the preseason top 25...that has to say A LOT about how terrible he and his staff are at developing talent and coaching right?
No. Because if Auburn wins less than 8 games this year, it will be the REC's fault!
