If Jim stays at the Barn for another year, my guess is that one or more assistants will be thrown under the bus this season.
Any guesses who might be first to go or will they all go down together next year?
OC is toast!!!
Supposedly, Trooper Taylor is the one that's going to be taking the fall this year...
The OC is done. I'm guessing van gorder bails on them.
I think Luper or trooper will be the next OC and the other one is gone.
Dline and oline coaches could be fired as well.
Coach Jim Chiz is a walking probation. Who needs the NCAA when you have the Chiz?
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
Auburn is in a tough spot, and I sure do hate it for them.
Pretty safe to say Scott Loeffler is done at the end of the season if not before.
God bless the fool they sucker into coming on board. I will be very interested to see who they bring in and what kind of system they run. I think its clear they don't have the personnel to run a pro-style offense, a fact that won't change next year.
Some things to consider:
1. They'll be at LSU, at Texas A&M, at Georgia, and will of course play Alabama;
2. They'll lose Lutz, Blake & OMac;
3. KF or CM will still be their QB;
A bad offense could be a lot worse next year.
Despite all of the above, they could have a fair year next year. They'll play 4 nobodies out of conference (FCS opponent, Arkansas St. who could give them fits, Washington St. & MAC opponent or Virginia) and will get the Mississippi's and Vandy at home. Those 7 are winnable. At Arkansas is another winnable game. Out of those 8 they should be able to get 6 or 7 wins.
The question becomes, is 6-6 or 7-5 after 3-9 or 4-8 good enough to save Chiz?
My guess is after another Iron Bowl blowout, NO.
As for #3, it would not surprise me if Jeremy Johnson is the starter.
1 of Auburn's problems is that Chiz is a CEO hands off head coach.
He turns the offense completely over to the person in that job. However, he was unable to hire someone who is capable of being the head coach of the offense. Then the head coach has no vision and is therefore no help. If the assistants aren't helping then he is on an island trying to learn to do his job.
The other problem must be he does the same thing with the defense. Being a former DC and a respected one you'd think they'd be much much better on D than they are. But then again he'll have to look at the film to determine that. RTR.
