Thanks Chris, I am sure none of us likes that very last stat.
Sacks tied for 113! Didn't see that coming in the pre-season.
Let's get it going boys!
Thanks Chris. Any idea where we stood at this time last year? It would be interested to compare.
For that matter, any of the last few years? TIA
Would love to see how these defensive stats looked in comparison to 2010.
Hard to get much out of these stats after the second week of the season with many teams not playing worthy opponents. Still good to look at though.
Those numbers are going to be very interesting once teams get 4-5 games into SEC play.
As requested, here are the numbers after two weeks last year:
Rushing Offense 36 189.50
Passing Offense 57 231.00
Total Offense 47 420.50
Scoring Offense 38 37.50
Rushing Defense 9 49.00
Pass Efficiency Defense 3 60.12
Total Defense 5 170.50
Scoring Defense 13 9.00
Net Punting 75 35.67
Punt Returns 21 14.69
Kickoff Returns 34 25.75
Turnover Margin T-75 -.50
Pass Defense 11 121.50
Passing Efficiency 84 113.81
Sacks 49 2.00
Tackles For Loss T-98 4.00
Sacks Allowed T-27 1.00
I looked at the NCAA stats today, too. Many of those teams have played one creampuff only or two creampuffs only, notably TCU, at the top of the D standings in several categories.
Would wait until after the 5th game to start really looking at ncaa stats. Our numbers will improve rapidly by then.....Some Yahoo on national radio was bragging on the Texas D before
they meet Ole Miss this weekend. I am not sure what he was looking at. The stats show the Texas D as average at best and their offense ain't no better. Watch out if OM does not
play like Ole Sis this weekend.....RTR!
Totally agree. I though the AJ stat was interesting. I just threw on the rest in case anyone was curious to the rankings, but I'm with you that it's too early.
I really like the Turnover Margin increase we have had since last year. That is a huge category when you have a defense like ours.
Ok, how about this one?
The Crimson Tide has won 20 consecutive SEC openers, dating back 1992, the year Arkansas and South Carolina joined the SEC.
Thanks alot Chris. Interesting.
