I was just looking at the box scores from both games and noticed that Driskel completed 8 of 12 passes for 61 yards and Shaw completed 6 of 10 passes (but did throw for 162 yards thanks to a couple deep shots). I just don't think that either team could beat us without passing the ball better than that. With the way we play the run, I think that a more polished passing game will be required to slay the dragon that is Bama right now.
I realize that neither team needed to throw much in their games, and both teams looked good. In no way am I implying that we can't be beat. I'm just saying that their passing games don't scare me at this point, and I think it will take a great passing (and rushing) game to beat us this year.

Driskel also had a lot of negative plays, too, in getting those 12 attempts. He and Manziel both really need to learn how to throw it away and live for another down.

Misleading, he played well for a freshman in a very big SEC game. Look at Jay Barker's stats when we beat Miami in 1992. Defense is what wins championships, not offense. And no, I don't think FL is a championships team. But they are headed in the right direction. I agree with the poster who said they are similar to Bama in 2008.

That's right. Thanks for correcting. Still think he handled the game well.
