A co-worker shared a story with me this week who has a customer that is the father of a Notre Dame defensive starter that I think most will enjoy.
The week after the BCSNG he asked the dad if he was able to speak with his son after the game. He did in fact see him after the game as the son was emotional from the lost, but in disbelief as well. He finally started to speak. He said " dad you know the thing I don't think I'll ever get over is the fact that on every single play that center or QB would come to the line and call out exactly the defense we were in, and on top of that the defense call we had made. They knew our defense better than we knew our defense and i cant remember a play when they were wrong. Everything they say about Saban knowing how to prepare for a game is TRUE!"
I'm not going to name the player, but I thought it was an interesting perspective to share. And no, the player wasn't Teo.
Lol. Jones and McCarron are going to blow some minds come interview time! Please please let jaws do a QB camp with McCarron and put our program on the national map as a QB friendly, NFL preparing program!
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
Cool story. He was processed.
I too get emotional over the lost.
Thanks for sharing! Interesting, believable information.
The lost do need to be found, you know...
1960 Les Paul
Well...I remember 1 play where 1 of them (probably AJ) was wrong.

Lol I still can't figure out what #91 was so amped about.
That's an awesome story, and I agree, it will be great for us to have AJ on there with Jaws and Gruden, I'm sure he'll impress them more than they've been impressed by very many QBs in a while with his smarts and his knowledge of defenses. And I'm sure they'll want to get him on there - the guy may be a 3-time National Champion as a starter by that time.
He was hoping that BJ or AJ would fight and get hurt, taking themselves out of the game because he couldn't do one thing to either of them.
Great story OP!

Sounds right, and as you know B. Jones said after the game that while the ND defense was sound fundamentally, they were also simple in what they run.
Part of this is attributable to Nuss saying ND basically ran Base every play with little change In personnel and scheme even in typical situations. Presnap reads were more simple than with most opponents.
This. They tried to cover Amari Cooper with a Linebacker for some awful reason. Reminded me of the Penn State game in 2010.
