that the deepest position on the football team next year just might be wide receiver (right there with running back depending on Foster and Hart recovering from their injuries). Cooper, Norwood, Jones and Jones, Black, Foster, Shinn and others. Not to mention the possibility of Kamara out of the slot. Fun times ahead.
remember when it was julio, and not that much else?
of course if you think about it, everything Coach Saban has done is pretty amazing.
Selling Maze and Hanks short IYAM
Maze and Hanks were good receivers, but could not be considered "elite" in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I loved both, especially Maze in the return game.
However, I was talking about the depth of talent. When we had Maze and Hanks, if they were injured or limited, there was not a lot behind them. Now we have serious depth. Cooper is definitely ELITE, and I think Foster and Black have a chance to be elite as well. Several of the other receivers, if not elite, or definitely quality D1 receivers.
It's amazing! We are stacked !! Aj will be surrounded by top notch weapons. If the O line gels as expected. AJ's biggest problem will be do I hand it off to this stud or this stud?? Do I throw it to that stud or that stud?? Man I love Coach Saban!
I agree even as "limited" and I say that in the most relative of ways, we had multiple people open on almost every pass play in the BCSNCG
Best WR corps in the SEC. No doubt.
OP's list is fantastic and he didn't even mention Kenny Bell and D. White. Assuming they're 100 percent they're two of our better deep threats.
I'm looking forward to see Cyrus Jones in '13. I thought he did a good job being a true freshman this past season. He has all of the talent in the world and with another spring, summer and fall he should really take off.
Notre Dame was lucky they didn't have to play us at full strength with Hart, White, Bell and Fowler all healthy. The game was lopsided enough as it was but it would have been over even more quickly with all those guys in the lineup. It's also scary to think that Cooper wasn't really full strength for a lot of the year. He was really banged up in that Miss. State-LSU-Texas A&M stretch in the schedule. He was limping into the endzone on the long touchdown pass in the A&M game.
I'm really interested to see how he does too. He has terrific speed and did some good things as a returner. He sort of disappeared after the fumble in the LSU game though. That's not a knock on him though. Brad Wing is a great punter and his punts are very hard to field.
We are definitely stacked at the WR position, but because of the number of WR positions in any given formation, we are probably only 2-3 deep at each position. Running back on the other hand- we may have 5 running backs that would start for any SEC team. Bottom line is we're deep at all of our skill positions.
The Dynasty is Here!

If we get the off line together man our Offense should be scary good next year.
Also if you think about Howard I think with his size you can put him at tightend are put him out at wideout and he can do a lot of damage.
In my opinion I don't think has ever had this many highly ranked WR coming out of HS on any Bama team .......Cooper,Black and Foster are players that were really highly ranked players....Bama can usually swing a instate kid that is highly ranked but these Guys are all out of state guys....I guess we could throw in Howard because he could line in slot or on the outside...Amazing....RTR
