Me and my wife got to hear Jeremiah Castille speak today at a lunch'in for The Basement. And WOW is he a great speaker. He spoke today about what makes a Champion on the football field and in life. He is a awesome man of God, he also told several stories about Coach Bryant. He told us how much Coach Bryant hated Tennessee, more than any other team. He told us in 1980 when they played Tennessee, Coach got up and started talking about how much he hated Tennessee and how BAD he wanted to beat them. He said Coach Bryant got so emotional, he started crying. He said they looked around to each other and said " Is Coach crying?" Then Coach pulled a towel out and wiped his eyes and said, (in his Coach Bryant voice) " You boys didn't know Coach could act, did ya?" He said by the time he finished talking they were fired up and ready to play in the parking lot if they had too. Said they stormed out of the locker room. Went out and beat Tennessee 27-0, and Tennessee didn't even get across the 50 yardline in the first half. If you ever get a chance to hear him speak, take it he will fire you up. RTR
Had the opportunity to hear him; he was awesome!
One of the best to ever speak at our church....
I'm very lucky in that I know him and Woodrow Lowe personally..My dad was an asst football coach and principal when they came through Central-Phenix City..they are both great men, players, and ambassadors for Alabama
Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear.
