He just adding fuel to Trent's fire!
Larry Csonka>Jim Brown
The way to a woman's mouth is through her phone.
He beat women and smoked weed, so he's only half a piece of trash.
Does ANYONE actually CARE what Jim Brown says?? Or anyone else for that matter.
I'm sure both Trent and Mark would agree, it's not gonna affect their paycheck one bit.
Sorry trents not close to his level
I'm willing to bet that he could crush JBs skull with one hand...I know he's entitled to his opinion, I get that, but why use it to trash current players? Low self esteem and a fading memory of greatness is my guess.

he's an idiot full of himself
I Ain't got no Worries - Lebron James
I'll take Emmitt Smith's opinion over Jim Brown's since Emmitt is the all-time leader in rushing yards in the NFL. Had Ernie Davis played for Cleveland Jim Brown wouldn't even be thought of as the greatest Cleveland RB. I respect what Jim Brown did for the game, and he was a great player, but Trent is carrying dudes around that are way bigger than the guys Jim was dragging around. Sad that one of the greats can't see that. RTR.
OJ really OJ. Barry has at least a small argument.
Jim Brown is the best of the best. Goat. Without question
greatest ever? Matter of opinion BUT it doesn't mean he can say whatever he wants. That's what the Constitution of the United States does for every American. Having said that it doesn't mean he is correct. He is disconnected and probably has no clue about the ability of any running back today.
Trent Richardson's story is yet to be written. Chances are he isn't the back in the NFL Jim Brown was BUT he has all the talent and intangibles in the world to reach the highest of levels. A lot of other things go into the equation. time will tell just how good TR is in the NFL.
this is true. It's amazing how most of 'em eventually learn to be humble, but ol' Jim has just become LESS so over the years. Add a bit of senility in there and you've got a grumpy ol' man who never wants anyone to ever threaten his place in NFL history...
1960 Les Paul
Anyone that says Trent Richardson is "ordinary" is just an idiot. I Don't care who makes that remark. Idiot. RTR
very true just don't think you can mention trent in his league. Could it change? yes but I doubt it. Trent is one of my favorite players ever but jim brown was one of the best if not the best ever
His bust is in canton. Made an ass of himself? Sure. But he's Jim Brown Goat
You get out of it what you put into it!
Learn something kids.
These arguments always drive me nuts....There is NO WAY POSSIBLE that either side of the argument/discussion can prove their sides right. Saying Jim Brown would not be as dominant in "todays NFL" is the same type argument that people bring up saying guys like Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle wouldnt have been the superstars they were if they faced "today's pitching"....The pitchers that Mantle/Ruth faced were as dominant for that era as the present day pitchers we see today. Same with the NFL. The running backs from the 50's and 60's faced the highest level of competition that was available just like the running backs do today.
If you put Ray Lewis in a time machine and send him back to 1964 and he plays against Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, etc...he's being juked just like the rest of them. Same way for the running backs if they faced "today's defenses". They will still have the Sportscenter highlights. Talent is talent is talent. I think what J.Brown said was idiotic and sounds like any of the adjectives that have been used to describe him...bitterness, grouchy, etc...but I'm not going to reduce his talent and legacy he forged in the NFL because he doesnt like T.Rich....
I'm not studying no damn Jim "Wife Beater" Brown. I don't think he is the GOAT and I'm probably older than most ITT. That guy is a clown and always has been. Ducked his way out of some serious rape accusations and some other beat downs he gave some women. Puts down everybody he comes across. He was the best RB during his time. I'll give him that. That doesn't mean he was the GOAT. Gmafb.

for all your arrogant bombast in this thread, you haven't figured out that no one is saying jim brown wasn't a great player. some are saying he's overrated, but that's in direct response to you saying "he's the greatest football player to lace up cleats." there's an incredibly high likelihood that calling someone the greatest is overrating them. the video you just showed does nothing to prove your argument. now, if you link videos of every player to ever lace up cleats, then somehow create a level playing field based on eras and styles, maybe we can judge.
that's a long way of saying stop being so arrogant in this thread. you've seen highlights of jim brown. congrats - we all have. but the burden of proof is on you when you call him the greatest.
oh, and he's a jack@ss, which is what the thread is really about. what he said today, and how he said it, was unequivocal evidence of that.
Agreed. Hall of fame player but not the GOAT. Not in football at least. GOAT lacrosse player for sure.
I don't care. Was he a jackass today sure. But all I said is that he's earned the right to be a asshat. He's the greatest football player in history as voted on by his peers. He's the greatest to carry the rock. And would do it in any era. Some folks need to realize football has been played for many many years.
Nick Sabans favorite player? Jack Lambert. 225 lb MLB but he's the best to ever do it. And could do it today.
These men left their make on the game. Built the game. They can say what they want.
wow. everything you just said is comprised of two things:
- opinion (at best)
- absurd rationale (at worst)
yet you're speaking them as if they've been carved into stone tablets.
