Huge LSU homer just depressingly stated that he's concerned the BSC beatdown, followed by NSD humiliation, may be signs of the beginning of the end for LSU's football program as they know it. I simply smiled politely and explained that Bama is the best at processing other teams, but that I was sure Leslie has a "plan."
"BINGO! That was a goody!" - Coach Bryant on Sunday afternoons with Coca Cola & Golden Flakes
I keep saying.. add Miles to the list of those who have been Saban-ated....
I've had a couple of them say that to me as well. I don't know a single LSU fan who is optimistic about their program and I live in LA.
Wow... just wow!
Same here. Although, most aren't as open with it.
They have a lot of talented and experienced players coming back, and they did have a phenomenal year last year (except the BCSNC game of course).
The problem is that they were dominated and made to look very bad by us. I bet there are a lot of LSU players that are losing faith in Les, and that can be the beginning of the end unless they find some way to address it. Our players believe in CNS, and for good reason!
This is a cry for help, and you are obligated to help him find his way to Bama.
"Touch that thang four" - Courtney Upshaw
If you really look at the Les Miles coaching tenure you'll see it in 4 parts:
2005-2007= won with Coach Saban's recruits and discipline
2008-2009= lost 9 games in 2 years. the Corndogs were very bummed about Les. Team played AWFUL defense. No identity on either side of the ball. Then Miles did the smartest thing he will ever do at LSU. He hired:
2010, 2011: Enter Defensive Coordinator John Chavis. Because of John Chavis ALONE, Miles saved his job and turned his career around.
So part 4 is now 2012 and they open with an asswhipping in their biggest game in 5 years to archrival. Then lose the top player in the state to Bama. Then lose other players that defect (Kiel, Toshiro Davis)
My opinion, LSU will be fine as long as they coach great defense with those athletes. I don't see why LSU won't recruit stronger next year. They'll be okay. But I do think they have peaked.
I've been predicting the LSU "cycle" to turn DOWN for a while now. We are seeing the signs of decline over there. They will be good in 2012 and likely chomping at the bit to get back
at us in Red Stick this November. But we KNOW that the Tide will go down there and take them down again. And then all the rest of the air will come out quickly from that bloated
purple balloon and the DOMINATION will set in.....They know it and we know it. It is inevitable........ RTR!
I think they realize they are set up for a big let-down next season. Yes, this team is going to be ranked #1 perhaps, but coming off the beat down this is a fragile team. The fact that both Duvall and Collins picked up on this is a testament to the fact that LSU is about to crumble. We've all know that Miles was able to piggy back off the success of Saban for years........that can't last forever.
I believe they peaked this season and in typical Les fashion.......I think they blew their wad like a teenager.
