A few people have tweeted that Butch Jones will be new coach at Kentucky.

RT @ErikAinge3: My source in Lexington said that Butch Jones is a done deal announcing early this week
If true Cincinnati has become a spring board for mid major coaches lately. I guess they will just hire whoever is at Central Michigan to replace him...worked twice already.

That just seems like a bad move for Butch. I think he's good and can get a better job than that.

On Alabama: CeCe Jefferson - "It was a bunch of beautiful women..." Reggie Ragland - "oh the females of course..."
I dont see why anyone would leave Cincinnati for Kentucky. IMO Cincinnati is a better job, with a much better chance of winning.
That's my thought too. Money is the only thing I can think
Butch may see what James Franklin has done at Vandy and think something similar could be done at UK. I mean lets face it if he wins 7 games at Kentucky he's a superstar and one of the hottest names in coaching. You win 7 games at AU/UT/Cincy/Arky they're ready to run you out of town.

Now keep this in perspective... but I think Kentucky is tired of being on the bottom in football... I think they will try to get out of the cellar with this hire and I think that is doable... Will they compete for the East.. No. But they can get ahead of Mizzou, who I think will have a coaching change within the next year, Vandy who will probably have a coaching change in the next year, try to pass UT while they are down and then that puts them finishing at 4th in the East, which for UK is very respectable.
Guys kentucky is a better job. He can 8-5 there and be coach of the year. Its also in the SEC. The big east is dead..
honestly its probably pretty tough to go 8-5 every year at kentucky. they just dont allocate their resources to football at that school.
Hey, the Cincinnati airport is actually in Kentucky. just saying!
I know Kentucky is not a traditional power but they could be good. Kentucky is a better job. Its in the SEC! Like Bear Bryant once said Kentucky is Tennessee without the cheating. lol

Theyve had 2 coaches pull it off in Guy Morris and Rich Brooks. When Alabama was down everyone claimed the Bama job was to tough. The expectations were to high and winning like Bear won in 60's and 70's was not possible in the modern age of college football. Hell, Bama was even called the 6th best Job iN the SEC. My point is that when a bad coach is leading a program it always looks like doom and gloom. All Kentucku needs is a guy with J.Franklins energy and they can compete. They will never win the east or play for championships but going in 8-5 or 9-4 in the SEC beats the hell out of going 10-2 in a terrible conference every year.
He'll also be on CBS or ESPN every week and he'll make more money at Kentucky. Its a better job.
Nah, You are way off my man. UK can only be good if everyone else in East is struggling. Or u find a great find at QB and muster up some kinda defense.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
The Bear figured that out when he won their first SEC championship and got a watch. Rupp won their gazillionth BB championship and got a Cadillac.

Correction: it was a cigarette lighter.
Check! CPB would be happier with the lighter than with a watch. You couldn't light Chesterfields with a watch.
Big difference is alabama was actually just down, kentucky has always sucked. They just dont spend the money in football there to compete with the rest of the east. Also, i dont understand how you can say a job were you will "never" win your own division, much less a conference championship, is a better job then one were you do play in a weaker conference but have 10 win seasons and play in a bowl game every year. I just think Kentucky isnt really that great of a stepping stone, its just comparable to what he already has , so why make a lateral move?
Kentucky did not suck when Rich Brooks was there. They played on CBS all the time and even beat LSU's NC team in 2007. Things are never as bad as they look when you have a terrible coach. That goes for any program.
I didnt address the second part of your post..sorry. Kentucky is a better job even if they cant win their division because winning a weak conference means nothing. Its more inpressive to beat the NC's like A&M potentially has done this year or Kentucky did in 2007. You get far more pub as a coach. You cant say its not possible at Kentucky because we all saw it happen on national TV in 2007.
first 3 seasons he was there they were 4-8, 2-9, and 3-8 (At most major programs hes fired at this point, but at kentucky he has another year)
4th season 7-5 with a bowl win over clemson (if he hadnt been fired at this point from other major schools then hes def fired after this year.)
5th season 8-5 with a win over LSU, louisville and FSU (not a really bad year, but not major college stuff either)
6th season 7-6 (retires after this season.)
his overall record while at kentucky was 31-41. If he were a coach at Alabama would you say we sucked at that time? Look, Im not saying its a terrible job. just that its a lateral move from cincinati, and he could possibly damage his stock by going here.
Nobody is gonna look back on a championship teams season and remember in 10 years who their one loss was. Ten years from now, if we win out, nobody will look back and say "yeah, that alabama team sure was good, but they lost to aTm."
