Not factoring in the block in the back penalty on one return, Michigan starting points on 9 kickoffs were the 29, 24, 26, 15, 25, 22, 14, and 35. That's an average of 23.75...better than a touchback. The new rules fit our situation perfectly, and if we get these results all year, I hope we never have a touchback. I'll take the risk-reward of stopping them inside the 20 vs. busting a long return. Letting our cover guys start 5 yards closer, combined with touchbacks coming out to the 25, fits our kickoff team perfectly.
disagree, kick it out of the end zone every time...if you can, obviously our guy can't
I believe foster can kick it out of the endzone, but CNS may not want him too just my opinion.
Maybe. Don't know and don't care as long as we continue to get the same results. Probably no team benefits as much from the new rules as we do.
