Just saw it run across the bottom on the ESPN tracker, I actually think this would be a great opportunity for him, crimson glasses aside I think this would be an opportunity he couldn't pass up and I really wouldn't have the same feeling with him potentially going to UT as I did with AU, thoughts?
I saw this coming. Everybody and their brother turned them down.
better than losing him to the boogers.
agree with you
hart explicitly said they wanted head coaching experience but i guess all bets are off at this point
still dont see why they dont go after petrino or tressel
I hope we keep him another year because this could have a huge impact on recruiting especially if Cochran & Pruitt go with him.
Is it pretty much a forgone conclusion that those guys are going wherever Kirby goes, I've seen it mentioned many times and their relationship has been noted, when it does happen losing Cochran would be a huge blow, really hope we can keep him around when that move does take place.
Maybe Bama throws enough money at them to keep em around.
he has already told them no.
Wow, this is a disaster for UT

I think Butch Jones is in the drivers seat just due to the fact that he's been a head coach for six years. He has been interviewing at a few schools and I think was offered the Colorado job. Certainly not a certainty; Jones could see the desperate situation the Vols are in and get greedy, but I think he's their first choice.
Now, if Hart doesn't get Jones, then that changes everything for Tennessee, and Smart would certainly be a prime target. And I think that all of these scenarios are why the fact that Saban may have already talked to a potential replacement for Smart was never evidence that Smart was that close to going to Auburn. With all the dominoes falling and now there being openings at Wisconsin and possibly now Cincinnati, and the fact that there could have been openings at Louisville or Oklahoma State, there was certainly a good chance that Smart was going somewhere. And he still may be.
I think he took the Colorado job. Sorry...just saw that he turned it down after saying he would take it.
