I think we all (inc myself) need to remember that CAG is still a relatively new HC.
Is he willing to change for the sake of improvement?
Based on knights commentary during the game I can only assume what he might share with grant post game.
Here's to continued improvement

This would be a fun picture to caption, although not very productive.
I swear Coach Knight sent a note over and gave him the screen play for the inbounds pass after Steele had to burn a timeout.
Anything CAG could pickup from BN would be good.
"Theres No Substitute for Guts"
Ha. I was wondering how close the press area was to the Bama bench. Knight was disgusted last night.
CAG actually looks like he's getting advice.
Glad Bama somehow won, but you know its bad when you really wish Engstrom wasn't injured.....Gueye and Jacobs both have terrible hands. Love Gueye's effort, but he still gets called for some silly fouls.

Except a chair
Seriously though that is an amazing picture. Very awesome to see that he saw that opportunity to gain knowledge.
I was going to say the same thing, that a chance to pick his brain like that can never be a bad thing ...
It also explains why we were sitting and waiting for the coach longer than usual last night in the media room (the newspaper guys hate it because it kills them on deadline. Obviously we don't have that issue here).

Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
This is what I was thinking above, Grant went out of his way to try to help himself and this team.
Awesome pic. CAG looks like a little kid with an all time great, which is sort of what it is.
Obviously, anything Grant picked up from Knight would be beneficial going forward, except throwing chairs, etc.
I only watch the last 4 minutes of game.... so i am lost with the "Knight" love... Levi set a pick from the free throw line and Arkansas switch,,,, then Knight talked about there was no pick (huh). The smae thing happened the next play and Levi was more aggressive coming off the pick and got the pass... On the sideline, the ball went to Steele, and Knight talked about how they should never through it in to our BIG man (Steele,, huh)... Then he talked about taking a time out before the free throw, when no one had time outs (geez)...
When I turn the TV on last night and realize Knight was commentating,,, my response was,,,,, geeez, I wonder what game he will talk about regardless of the game he is watching...
At the same time,,, he has to have truck loads of basketball knowledge to learn from..... But I just don't like him as a commentator

First, I support CAG and I think AD Mal Moore is the best AD in the business. Now, both CAG and ADMM should sit down and listen to Coach Knight's live commentary of last night's game. Knight expressed in coach-speak what many of us fans have tried to express about this team. I never expected greatness from this team due the lack of big guys who can play the post. However, when a team can not inbound a ball and when a team continuously stands around on offense until the shock clock is running down...
I thought the combo of Rece and Knight was good and enjoyed Knight's insight during the broadcast. That's the "Knight" love and I thought he was pretty spot about our O despite falling asleep on air. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say CBK knows bball. Disagree fine. But don't discredit. That's just silly. Pick wasn't open 1st time (Foul Line). The second was on the baseline where Knight commented that was his favorite for the situation. However, I was snorting deer antlers so I could have been high. JMO.
You are correct about the Steele comment but I think he just botched the name and I took his point as, Steele isn't the best dribbler or sure of hands in that situation. He had been calling this all game as they would pass to Steele and he would clap the ball and turn it over.

i haven't watch the entire game, only the last 4 minutes... but it sounds like I missed a pitiful display of offensive basketball.
Knight knows basketball,,, no question there. But I've muted the TV on a few games because he didn't seem to be aware of the situation on the court.. he would make a great point about a play,,, but that play did not happen in the game in front of him.
And the "pick" statement was that there were NO picks... But as you stated, the pick was not open (due to switch)... Honestly the second pick was not open, just a really good pass.
Knight is 72 and what I enjoy about his commentary is that he is a salty dog and when he watches a team, he gets bored. It's probably painful for him not to be out there coaching and he doesn't pay attention. Maybe he's not the best sportscaster. Our guys just look a bit tired at the end or a step slow.
I value your insights Mr. Gold. JMO, but I thought it was the worst offensive display I've seen (didn't watch Mercer or Tulane) this season. Probably good you didn't. My biggest concern was during the final time out and they showed the Alabama Bench. Only Levi Randolph and the couple of other guys were even paying attention to CAG. Releford and Jacobs might as well been on the moon. That sh*t bothers me, enough where I'm pointing it out in two threads. We'll see this Saturday.
No doubt CBK didn't have his best stuff those last 4 min but I think it's because the horrible hoops he's watched in the prior 16 fried his brain!! Lol
If you recorded entire game go check it out. He was great
Whole team and staff should sit down and watch it together at practice today. Maybe hearing it from him would sink in
Ha... Naw, I think I will avoid watching this one.... I HATE bad basketball...
Yeah, you're not going to get a lot of sympathy from Alabama sports fans about having to wait too long to attend a coach's press conference
