anyone hear the LSU call of the Yeldon TD? I heard it once and would love to hear it again, any ideas where it can be found?
dude was as dejected as any play by play guy I've heard
Bump for this. +1 for anyone who can locate a link.
Ask and you shall receive.
Go to the link below - and in the mid-bottom left side of the page look for "Geaux Zone." Scroll in the toggle area of that section to the right, one click to where you see "Live audio replay - Alabama." Click on that and it should start playing. Maximize the replay box by clicking ZOOM and move the timestamp to 5:44:00 (5 hours 44 min into their broadcast - it's about 4/5 of the way through their full broadcast.) That's right before their missed kick and the beginning of "the drive."

Nash, thanks brother!
No prob. I love the sound of total disbelief in Jim Hawthorne's voice. It was like he'd seen a ghost. He just kept saying "how did they do it? What was different on that drive? Tell me - How did they do it?"
Hahahahaha. Love it.

bump for later, thanks nash, +1
I could listen to this over and over . Thanks NashTide.
I know some of us on this board have criticized Eli Gold occasionally for not being the best PBP guy in the world, especially with regards to live action description, yards gained, ... etc., but compared to what I heard from the LSU team in this link, we Bama fans have it good with Eli. These guys were terrible. If I hadn't already watched the game, it would have been impossible to know what was going on.
I generally regard Hawthorne to be somewhat decent, but yeah - he was all over the place on that last drive. But then again, I think everyone watching it was stunned. Verne, Eli, Hawthorne, fans, and even players. It was magical. Like time stood still.
Hawthorne has been around a long time - after the "old guard" of SEC announcers like John Forney, John Ward, Munson, Cristil, etc., I'd put Eli and Hawthorne in that next group of guys who have been doing it a long time.
But he seemed really out of sorts after that Yeldon TD. Can't say I blame him!
(The worst, by a longshot, is Mick Hubert at Florida. There are arrogant, insufferable homers, and then there's Mick Hubert.)
I'll admit that I only listened to the last drive. Their PBP team definitely seemed rattled.
Also, it was nice to be able to hear Rammer Jammer in the background on the broadcast.
Nevermind, found it.

Awesome thanks Nash. I started at about 5:40 and got a little bit of them being fired up still. Makes it much better to hear them when they are doing something. Once again thanks Nash
Nice...at least they weren't bashing Bama on that last 5 min.
