How has he looked this spring? What are his strengths and weaknesses? I know it was said that he was entrenched as the second unit end, so just curious how much PT he might get this year?
People here will say he's as good as Jadeveon Clowney but has attitude problems.
Watched him a lot during the scrimmage when he was out there. Took several plays off and just was not giving it near 100%. He was one of the biggest guys out there, just didn't seem very motivated. I am pulling for him though. Hope he realizes his potential
As we had in today's practice report it looks like he's set on the second unit for now.
He's one of those guys I want to see how he does when it's a game-like situation Saturday.

He's physically imposing. I hope he can play to his potential.
Glad to hear he’s on the second unit. I would think that would translate into quite a bit of PT. Rotation of Pagan, Stinson, Tomlinson and Fanning should be very solid at DE. Then you have Dickson who will likely play some DE in nickel. Gonna be another good year boys!

Fanning is so physically imposing. No reason for him to be on the bench. Hope he can give us some minutes and make some plays this year.
i mean id put him out there just to scare the other team for sure
Can anybody elaborate what mental struggles a player at his position would have?? I know each unit has assignments, but what is the learning curve for a DE in our defense? Is that a difficult spot to learn??

Designated midget-slammer IMO.
No doubt that it requires discipline and self sacrifice to play anywhere at Bama especially DL. However, Sentimore and Pettway lacked that discipline but still found playing time. I know this is far fetched but maybe he is not as ultra talented as we would like to think he is. Zero inside knowledge just another theory.
Hope Fanning makes some big plays this year
It's all about effort. It doesn't take much more than desire and a mean streak to play DE with his physical ability. I doubt that missing assignments is the issue here. He just needs to take off the roller skates and get after it.
This, talent is there, just seems like he only plays 100% during games.
too bad the only way he sees mizzou again is if they bring back chanse daniel and jeremy maclan
