Wonder why he just didn't call him privately? Bet CNS is not excited about this at all...
On a side note. Chaney is a damn good OC!
New Member of The 247 Crew!
Why would Nick not like that?? I think its 100% fine and a nice gesture. The inner circle of coaching is pretty close in some areas...
Interesting decision on LT's part. Why call his "brother" on live radio, why not call him privately. In short, this move by LT inserts Himself somewhere he doesn't belong. To me this is a distraction; noise as CNS would say.
A distraction for whom?
Lance needs to read this board more often..... how can we win if were not focused on our opponent this week (G)
Totally disagree. Unless he was saddled with Bray and he could not be coached at all. They had no short game at all. I've seen them throw down field 20 plus yards repeatedly on 3rd and short. They also are incapable of moving the ball and burning clock when they needed to.
I would think that Saban would have preferred that Lance made this call out of the public eye. He is curious about his assistants making public statements.
Vince Lombardi was asked how it felt to have the best football team in the world. He replied, I don't know. We haven't played Alabama yet.
I agree... But Coach Saban doesn't let assistant coaches talk to the media... So why would he be thrilled with him calling a radio show?
Friends don't call live radio threads in the public... Just sayin
Because he wanted to publicly support his friend in front of that friend's critics. I'm sure chaney appreciated having that vote of support while he is preparing his team, and the fan base, for this last game. Very classy and thoughtful move to think of his friend.
CPB..."always show your class"
Totally wrong...but that is ok. If they had some form of defense. The offense wasn't lacking in scoring points.
Aside from the colors they wear on Saturdays, these coaches share a comraderie that is unseen to the average fan. They work along side each other day in and day out; on the football field, in the conference rooms, and on the recruiting trail. Why does it matter to Alabama football that one of our coaches called into a show and wished a former friend and colleague good luck in a game that has no implications on us? Come on tight wads, you guys don't want the best for your friends??
Trade CLT for Coach Sal!
This doesn't sound unlike Coach Thompson...and CNS knows Thompsons personality very well.
I thought it was cool
No I would say you are totally wrong. They lost to every decent team they faced.
I bet CNS had to approve it...
Yes...because the defense can't stop the other team. 2nd in the SEC in total offense. 36pts. per game. That is pretty solid.

I seriously doubt Nick will have a problem with that. He's not petty or stupid.
