Update here: RT @GamecocksOnline: Official word on Marcus Lattimore from Dr. Guy: Injuries to several ligaments, no fractures. More: http://t.co/eBaGLjaG
Man I hope he recovers.
This happened to the daughter of one of the women that works for me in my department. When I saw the picture of Marcus Lattimore, you could quite clearly see his kneecap on the inside of his knee. I'm sure that his injury was more significant than my friend's daughers but her injury happened in August playing soccer and she's back to playing soccer now. And I saw the pictures of her knee -- her kneecap was inside of her leg.
I am shocked. That sure did look like a fracture. I thought it was a combo fx and all the ligaments. I don't know if this makes the prognosis any better. Any orthopods care to chime in?
That is excellent news....really hope he can get back to playing football at a high level again.
If you dreamed you were a sleep and you woke up, would you be awake?
I'm no physician but IMO he should redshirt next year and get to 100% so he can prove it on the field to NFL teams in 2014. At this point he has nothing to lose.
A fracture could be a lot better than a completely blown out knee...torn tendons.
That really shocks me considering how the leg was flopping around. Hopefully he will be able to return.
I hope to see him back on the football field. Next year or the year after. Just hope he plays again.
I don't see how this is good news. It would be much better if he had a fracture over ligament damage.
What I tried to say
When you saw the play you instantly KNEW he tore ligaments. I think what people are trying to say is its good news he doesn't have bone fractures IN ADDITION TO ligament tears.
