What do y'all make of there being two linebackers(M Teo and J Jones) in the top 5? I agree that they're great players but a LB is not going to win it. Just curious and wanted to get some thoughts
I can understand Te'o- best player on a top 4 team and top 2-3 defense esp w/ an offense that hasn't set the world on fire. Plus 5 interceptions is impressive for an MLB. I've watched several of their games and think he's deserving of the attention.

Tells me the criteria for the Heisman has changed. No disrepect to Teo or Jones, but there have been more dominant defensive players that didnt come close to winning the Heisman. If Derrick Thomas didnt win with 27 sacks in one season, no defensive player should win it.
I thought the same thing about Teo's picks. That's really impressive, but I don't know how long he can keep it going
And also Braxton Miller. Does he stand a chance with the bowl ban?
It tells me the early favorites have fallen (Geno, Barkley), the QBs left either aren't flashy enough for the media to hype (McCarron), too young (Manziel), or play for a team that doesn't generate strong national buzz even at #2 (Klein). There definitely have been more deserving defensive players in the past but they went against more exciting traditional picks. Jones isn't going to get a serious look unless he comes up big in a win at the SEC championship game. Te'o plays for ND, so logic doesn't seem to apply where their concerned. That said, I'd be shocked if K-state wins out and Klein doesn't get it.
If Terrell Suggs or Derrick Thomas didn't win it with their stats then Te'o shouldn't. Of course they played different positions, but their stats were way more impressive. RTR.
Not arguing that- those guys were dominant. Thomas would be a finalist this day on age IMO
That is faulty logic.
